Posted - Jan 08 2008 : 03:07:24 AM Hello. Started my new job today and found out they have a very cool juicing machine. Does anyone have some good juice recipes, a book or website suggestion. This way if I like it I can do double duty making juice. 1 for the nanny family, 1 for my Dh and I. Also has anyone every frozen their homemade juice?

Posted - Jan 08 2008 : 06:24:58 AM I use "The Juiceman's Power of Juicing"...about as comprehensive a book as I know for different blends for common ailments & just for good "recipes" in general. Then, my naturopath gave me a recipe called RMVJ...raw mixed vegetable juice...because "pure liquids made from whole raw organic produce are easier on the food processing organs and structures of the body than is the same produce eaten whole." It's a simple recipe, but if you're not accustomed to juicing flavors, can take a bit of getting used to...
3 large carrots 3 stalks celery 1/3rd beet 1 garlic bud 1/2 zucchini or cucumber 2 large apples with peel 1/3rd fresh lemon with peel This particular drink really has a bite with the lemon and garlic...but I love it and feel wonderful afterwards. Just remember to "chew" your juice...it stimulates the salivary glands and it slows the absorption...chugging juices can cause a carb rush similar to sugars, so chewing slows that effect.
Juicing is one of the most beneficial activities I've ever experienced & I hope you have excellent results! What a great employer to provide such a healthy alternative!
