Well, I like experimenting with recipes and have created one of my own. This pasta salad has a sweet and spicy flavor, (the H&D jar says "taste the sweet, then feel the heat")and I must say really complements a hamburger!

It's passed the DH test and the co-worker test, and the "Tried making it a second time and still liked it" test, so here goes:

Sweet & Spicy Pasta Salad

2 cups cooked, drained and cooled penne pasta (or other small pasta of choice)
1 cup mayo
1/4 cup bacon bits or crumbled cooked bacon strips
1/2 cup Harry & David's brand Pepper & Onion Relish (similar to tomato salsa but made from red peppers and other stuff)
1/2 cup chopped, seeded tomato
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Cook pasta as directed, drain and cool.
Mix together all other ingredients, then toss with the pasta.
It tasted terrific when I made it, but was better several hours later and the next day, after flavors had a chance to blend together.

Enjoy, and let me know what variations you come up with?

Neat idea!

I am NOT a fan of spicy food, but this has a very subtle kick to it...you could probably fire it up some with hot peppers and Tabasco if you want!

Oh, Jo! That sure sounds good. I think I'll make it for the fireworks party this weekend!

I love me some spice and some pasta!!!
