Funnel Cakes (Fried Dough)

Batter:
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Oil for deep frying
Powder sugar for sprinkling

Heat cooking oil in skillet (or deep fryer) until very hot.
Put batter in funnel (be sure to cover hole with one finger),
then, holding funnel over hot oil (be very careful!), release
some of the batter in circular motion to form one funnel cake.
Cook to light golden brown on both sides. Remove from oil
and place on paper towels. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and
serve warm.

This is an awesome batter. My oldest son loves funnel cakes and every once in awhile, we make them. They are so easy to make and I just use my Tupperware blue funnel and use my finger to plug the hole and release to pour and swirl it.

We aren't too picky about it being pretty....'cause we're just going to sprinkle powdered sugar on it and gobble it down.

Perfect timing! I just bought a Funnel Cake set today! It's just a pitcher with a pour spout and the mix. I was wondering what I'd do once the mix was gone and now I know! YUM!

OOOHHHH, Peg! I love those! Is it State Fair time yet? Walking around eating a funnel cake.....and some vendors put fruit on top, too! I don't even want to KNOW how many calories are in one of those! :D
