Posted - May 15 2007 : 7:28:59 PM Does anyone have EASY recipes for homemade bread and pasta? I would like to use whole wheat flour or half whole wheat and half regular. I would also like to be able to add things like chopped spinach to the pasta and fruit or nuts to the bread. But, I need very BASIC recipes, as I am new to making things like this. Anyone??
Thanks!!

Posted - May 28 2007 : 10:35:52 AM What kind of pasta recipes? I have a RONCO pasta machine that has some decent recipes, but the instructions are for using with the machine.

The recipes don't require the machine to work, but you'll need some experience with making pasta without it.

Posted - May 16 2007 : 06:46:24 AM yes, I have a new england bread recipe that is SO EASY and so good. 5 to 6 cups flour 2 tablespoons dry yeast (2 packages) 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1 tablespoon salt 2 cups hot water a cake pan of hot water mix 3 cups flour w/ yeast, sugar, & salt. Pour in hot water & beat about 100 strokes or 3 min. w/ mixer. stir in remaining flour until dough loses it's stickiness. Turn on flour surface & knead about 6 to 8 minutes. place dough in a greased bowl & cover for 15 min. w/ a damp cover over it & away from dreafts.
punch down dough & divide into 2 peices. shape into 2 round loaves and place on greased cookie sheet. cut an X 1/2 inch deep in each loaf w/ a wet sharp knife & lightly rub w/ a bit of flour on top of loaves. place a cake pan of hot water on lower shelf of oven & put bread in COLD oven, NOW heat oven to 400 & bake for about 40 to 50 min. until golden brown and /or bottom sounds hollow. It IS very easy & fun making this bread. Good luck
Now for the pasta, I got a recipe from hillbilly housewife site. I'll give you the website, you'll find this & MANY more. www.hillbillyhousewife.com
