Posted - Jun 01 2018 : 10:24:56 AM Hello, and happy Friday everyone!
My name is Cydnie and it is my pleasure to be hosting the July Mail Art Swap. What better month to host than my very own birthday month? Since this is my first time, I’ll start with a little introduction—I’ll keep it short! I grew up in a small but beautiful farming town in northern Idaho. I moved to Moscow about six years ago to attend University of Idaho for a major in Art and Graphic Design and simply fell in love with the place and the community, so naturally, I took root. Shortly after graduating (one and a half years ago?!), I stumbled upon this wonderful, local, family-run business who just happened to need a graphic designer and, well, the rest is history! I love seeing all the avenues for creativity here at MJF and that’s why I’m very excited to be hosting the Mail Art Swap!
If this is your first time signing up for Mail Art, please visit the topic Farmgirl MAIL ART to read our guidelines.
FOR JULY, please leave a comment on this thread stating you'd like to join in. Sign-up is available through JUNE 15. If your comment appears after you've posted it, that means you're on the roster.
Since July is National Blueberry month, the theme will be anything and everything BLUE. Also, if the theme/challenge isn't right for you, feel free to make what your heart desires.
I will send an email with your partner to you on JUNE 16. Please, please, please send your Mail Art before JULY 31!! And be sure to include enough postage for your Mail Art to reach its destination. I'd like to encourage everyone to post a comment on this thread when you receive your mail art. And if you can, a picture is always appreciated. We all love seeing the inspiring art! And a quick ‘thank you’ lets your partner know you received your mail art.
If you have any questions or concerns, please send me an email. I’d be more than happy to help!
Happy swapping,
~Cydnie

Posted - Aug 22 2018 : 3:42:54 PM We did a shilly shally swap back last spring, in fact We did several. It is a square of fabric hemmed on all sides. It can be 36" or 40" or 42", depending on the width of your fabric. Some use a decorative stitch on the hems, some added from on the hem. You pay it across your lap when shelling peas, or pecans or whatever. Then just grab the corners, and dump the peels on your compost bucket. If you need a small tablec!oth, you have one. Need a lot rag, told it up and your hands should be safe. She may do another one, or two this fall.

Here is the artwork I received from Rebecca. It's an awesome poured painting titled "Ocean Waves". I included a close up so you can see the detail. I love the blue, turquoise and gold colors Rebecca. Thank you!

Posted - Jul 10 2018 : 10:41:15 AM Dianna - I received my mail art the other day, sorry for the delay in posting. What a lovely package. The Prayer Flag is beautiful. I have to look into the Cynotype fabric process, looks similar to batik. The birds on the branch art board is so cute! The heart flag plaque will be added to my American collection. The dragonfly napkins will be perfect for our next porch dinner! Lovely art and a nice surprise. The Cottage journal magazine was perfect timing. My subscription ran out a month or so ago.
Thank you!!!

Posted - Jun 26 2018 : 09:41:44 AM Here I was feeling sooooo guilty for being so slow getting my July mail art in the mail! So I finally remembered to come and read the instructions and I am enormously relieved that I am not too slow or late either! Yippie!
