Posted - Feb 01 2016 : 10:35:50 AM I hope your hearts are all a-flutter for February Mail Art.
If this is your first time signing up for Mail Art, please visit the topic Farmgirl Mail Art to read our guidelines. Then leave a comment on that post if you want to participate and I will contact you.
FOR FEBRUARY, please leave a comment on this thread stating you'd like to join in. Sign-up is available through February 15. If your comment appears after you've posted it, that means you're on the roster.
This month, we'll keep on with our theme and challenge that we started last month. Melody has chosen for us this month. Our theme will be Valentine's Day and our challenge, since Melody and a few other sisters call PA home, will be Groundhogs. It certainly made me giggle And as always, if the theme/challenge isn't right for you, you are welcome to march to the beat of your own artistic drummer.
I will send an email with your partner to you on February 16. Please send your Mail Art before February 29.
A couple of things to keep in mind: 1. Traditionally, Mail Art has been "secret"; part of the fun is receiving a surprise package from a surprise partner. I would encourage you not to tell your partner who you are until a reasonable amount of time has passed for them to receive your art. 2. Please be sure to include enough postage for your Mail Art to reach its destination :)
If you have any questions or concerns, please send me an email. I'm always delighted to help.
Happy Swapping!

Posted - Mar 16 2016 : 2:24:32 PM Thanks to Mary D. for my fun box of goodies. This is my first swap so I'm learning that I need to post pictures. The wonderful socks are in my drawer and the notecards have already been used. I get to enjoy this piece everyday because I placed it above my desk. Inspired!

Posted - Mar 15 2016 : 12:24:30 PM Thank You Aimee, Phil is suppose to be looking at the bluebird thinking about how much he loves Spring. My husband says Phil looks more like a sasquatch in love with the thought of having a bird for lunch. I am still trying to figure out what I am going to make for the March project. Maybe a green sasquatch!

Michelle, thanks so much for the beautiful mail art! The handmade heart ornament is lovely with the lace, beads and hand stitching. The heart and clover cards are also wonderful! I've had a rough weekend so going home to find some mail art in my mailbox was just what I needed to brighten my day. And the blow-pops....I haven't had those for years but the little kid in me can't wait till dinner is over to open one (or...all three??) up. They were a favorite of mine growing up! I'm sorry the photo is kind of dark, our power is out at the moment so I didn't have anything but fading daylight to catch a photo with. We are having a lot of high winds today but it seems to be dying down now. Our neighbor's power came back on a few minutes ago so hoping ours will be next! Thanks again!
Cheers! ~ Marilyn

I love the collage of Valentine's Day, to include the sparkly red heart. Hidden behind the tag, but trying to peek out, are some cute little ground hogs. Also a great pack of colored pencils that I will share with my 5 year grand girl. She loves coloring stuff!!
What a Great job !! Thank you so much. Mary

Posted - Mar 07 2016 : 12:52:57 PM Well, I just came in from a harrowing drive to and from town! A freak snow squall covered the roads with grease-25MPH all the way home. But, when I got to my mailbox a sweet package awaited me...with a darling groundhog framed prettily and the cutest Valentine mug to boot! Thanks so much Beki!!!

Posted - Mar 07 2016 : 11:52:16 AM Sam, that is one CA-yoooooooooot groundhog!
I'm so jealous, I spent way too long trying to crochet one from scratch -- --just based on a few basic stitches I know how to do --- --and here's how he turned out....
(kind of wonky!)
The good news is my partner (Beki) confirmed receiving her box and I'm so thrilled that she liked it. I must say that my groundhog is nowhere near as cute as the ones that you all made. Oh well, I gave it a shot and then put most of my efforts into the other part of the gift.

These swaps are so much fun! Thank you for giving us a chance to create, share, and get to know one another.

Posted - Mar 05 2016 : 1:56:21 PM Sorry this is so late. My little guy here was so wonderful. I got the flu, a sinus infection, and bronchitis back to back to back. But Hog here was my constant companion. Thanks to his nursing skills I'm back at 190%!! Thanks Marilyn!! He makes me so happy!

Posted - Mar 05 2016 : 06:26:32 AM Checking in this morning to see what photo's have been added..I love them all! Doris I am also wondering about my partner. USPS said the box was delivered the first of the week. My attempt at creating a ground hog was so funny that maybe she is still laughing. Keep the photo's coming, we all love seeing them.
