Posted - Nov 30 2016 : 2:45:46 PM Oh how I wish I were in Florida right now,,, , just me, my trailer, some plastic Flamingos and a tall iced glass of sweet tea... is that to much to ask? Or could I just be whining about how cold it is here right now... I miss my lil trailer,,, she is all bundled up for the Winter,,,

Posted - Dec 28 2016 : 8:31:47 PM Here they show up in the lawns. Every year they have a fund raising for a high school and for $10-$40, I don't remember what the article said, kids from the local high school will put all the flamingos in the yard of whoever pays to have them here. You can even pay to have them put into someone's yard. The first time I saw them, I thought Florida had come to invade my new home. It was a cute story and it explained why I saw a yard full of them when I went into town. Becky

The Florida Hospital does a breast cancer fundraiser every year called "Pink Out" in which they sell plastic flamingos. For about a month, pink plastic flamingos take over lawns and parks in Central Florida.
