I was able to get the 97 cent solar lights at Walmart too! However, so far I haven't found a light fixture like I want . . . still have two thrift stores to visit though. One of those little lights WILL work in the Stanley thermos cup/lid I have decorated to sit by the thermos "vase".

Oh good golly.. the other day I went to the local dollar type store in the town above us (we only have gas stations a few eateries and tabacco shop in our little mountain town)... I had planned to buy 8 more of the 'solar sticks',,, and the last time I was there, they were out... Well, they were out again... uuggghhh!
So yesterday, hubby & I decided it was time to take a trip down the mountain and get caught up with errands we had been putting off... we popped into Wally World to pick up printer cartridges and I meandered over to the garden section where I found a shelf full of those solar sticks,, and for only 97cents each... times 8 I saved a whole whopping 24cents! lol! oh well, at least I have them and can start working on my chandeliers...
Now aren't you glad you wasted 3minutes reading my silly post? hahaha!

for sure... luv our solar lies... and I noticed that some have little AA-battries in them, and I have found I can change out the battery and get more millage outta my S.L.,,,

oh, dang another idea just popped into my head, your speaking of flowers...
How about a cowgirl or boy boot, put a solar lite in it and tuck some flowers around the opening,,, how cute would that be!???... omg! I think my brain is gonna explode from all these S.L. ideas! lolol!

I bought some solar lights day before yesterday, but need to go visit thrift stores to see if I can find a light fixture . . maybe tomorrow.
I do plan to use one of the solar lights in the cup that belongs to the Stanley thermos bottle I repurposed. I've already tried one and it will work great, glued lace around the edge of the cup. Just have to finish it up. It can sit by the thermos bottle which will have flower in it.
We've used solar lights that look like sunflowers with bees on them on our glamping trips and they were cute but they've taken such a beating that I probably won't try to use them again. Love using solar lights at glampsites!

Cj,,, I am terrible at remembering to take... B-4 photos... but here are the 2 chandeliers after I gutted them...

this was probably a dinning room chandelier... the arms hung downwards,, so after we removed the glass shades we turned the arms upward... easy peasy...
Haven't decided what to do w/the glass shades... yet...

this one was rather plain, so we added some parts from another lamp that we cannalibized...
as you can see by the different color of metal.
As for the glass shade,,, hmmm, I am thinking this would make a great Terrarium...(think the 1970's) lol! it even has a little 'door' that would make easy access for watering... just thinking...
I Think I will paint one white and the other black... haven't decided yet... I could do one in the same blue color as my trailer,, but I kind of like the way the black pops against my trailer's white & blue colors...

Our glamper has a porch light that was installed later, with a cord that goes through to the inside that plugs into an outlet. I think I'm going to try to fashion a chandelier fixture of some sort using solar lights to hang from that to use instead of the electric light. I bought some solar lights yesterday, I just need to come up with the right "fixture" . . . or something!
