I am hoping to earn my Disconnect to Reconnect beginner badge this weekend but am wondering if it is OK to use a digital camera during this time? Thoughts?

We are going on a fishing trip to Alabama this week. As much as I would like to not have the cell phones during this time, we have to keep at least one on and with us the whole time as we have hired a live in house sitter. We have a lot of pets and livestock to care for and he may need to get in touch with us. I have instructed him to talk to our neighbor first, but he can call or text at anytime if he feels it is necessary.

Sarah, I encourage you to use a digital camera during your trip. That way you'll be able to upload pictures for everyone. :)

If you do happen to have an old fashioned large format camera and were shooting on 100 (or less) speed B&W film and processing in your dark room using the zone system developed by Ansel Adams and Fred Archer ... that would be nifty ... not required. ;)

Thanks!

Sarah,
I don't see why it wouldn't be okay. It's not quite the same as being on the internet and cell phone. I know I've used mine while out and about on my "disconnect" adventures.
