My husband and I just got back from a wonderful trip to the Netherlands. What a beautiful country and oh what incredible tulips everywhere!! One special trip I especially enjoyed was a trip to a wooden shoe factory where they demonstrated the old and the new way of making wooden shoes. It was fascinating to watch and they are still worn on farms , work, and special occasions. Some are painted with flowers and special designs while others are plain or even unpainted. The Dutch say they become very comfortable on your feet after a few days as they mold to your foot shape. I tried a pair on and they felt very hard and unforgiving to me, but maybe I needed thicker socks and determination.

Outside the gift shop was this adorable cow sporting her own wooden shoes!! Hehehe!

Once again, my photos from my iPhone will only post sideways on this site, so I am sorry!

Sounds like a great time! I LOVE the cow picture :) Not sure I would like the wooden shoes either. Thanks for sharing with us.

Lucky you. I always wanted to go there. The cow's missing her lipstick and purse to match her cute shoes. LOL!
