I posted it on my blog, if you are interested in seeing a few photos. I didn't take many, because we were on our bikes almost all the time. We had planned to go sit on the beach one last time, but time got away from us (ha ha!)

http://pioneerwomanatheart.blogspot.com/2013/08/first-camping-trip-2013-enjoying-our.html

It ended up kind of my own style. A teensy glamping up, and lot of camping. I asked the girls what that was called, and they said "Flamping" (family camping combined with a teensy glamping up at the campsite).

Hubby is enjoying it too. He's already talking about upgrading ii in a few years to a hard sided one, after more kids move out. I'll let you know if that cleaner works on my camper floors soon too.

I've been following along on your blog Kristi, and it looks and sounds as if you are really enjoying your pop-up.
Good for you and the family! So happy to see that you are lovin' it!

Flamping, it needs to be put in the dictionary just as glamping does.

Happy glamping!!!

As soon as we have it up again, I will try to get those "inside" photos for you. I think we may even take one of the two dogs with us this next time.

Glad you had fun. We had one just like yours for a while until the economy went poof. Miss those days and envy your camping trip. Do it again and post more pictures, I will live vicariously from your trips.

God bless,

We used to have a popup and the frig in it didn't work either. We just used it for storage and, like you, used our coolers. They were easier to load and unload anyway.
Have fun with it!

Last night, the kids helped me put the camper back down. Thunderstorms were in the forecast (which never arrived, but anyway).

We did great. It's taken us a few times to do it correctly, without snagging anything in the process. The guys at the dealership were rough when they put it down, ripping one seam, which I still need to sew up.

Also, they told us the fridge worked, and took 45 minutes to get to the right temperature. We were there that long, but it never got that cold. We tried it over the camping weekend, and found that it does NOT work.

It's definitely a "fixer upper" but I still like "her." We may never replace the fridge. We always have coolers. So that can wait. I hope to get you all inside photos soon. I seem to put it down as fast as we put it up.

I grew up camping with a pop-up, so I am really enjoying it.

I have to admit, I traded in my campfire peculator for an electric coffee pot. He he! I can make it on the propane stove too, but for a large family, we use the stove and the campfire for breakfast, so the coffee pot was well worth it. I found a 12 cup one for $8.96. College is starting, so deals are everywhere here now.

I need to invest in more pie irons too. We have the space in the camper, and using one with out big family doesn't work out so well.

If you get a chance, go check my blog again. I bought a pop-up camper Christmas ornament!

Kristina,

Looks like a perfect camping trip. We are going this weekend with a bunch of our friends. We all reserved on area and we park in a big circle. We are sharing food and just having fun. I am so excited to get going.

I posted here too, because my blogpost never showed up on GirlGab. Same thing happened when I posted our camping trip when we borrowed Hubby's nephew's camper.

We are already planning another camping trip. YAY!

You know, when we camped, there were a larger amount of pop-up campers than I expected. There were just as many tent campers too. Of course there were some big rigs and a few silver bullets, but I was impressed on the number of pop-ups.

Flamping is a good word for it!!!!!! The main thing is you enjoyed it and so did the rest of the family. Glad you were finally able to get out. Your blog post sounded like yourself again, rested and happy. Hope you get to go at least one more time before winter sets in.
