Posted - Jun 18 2013 : 7:31:26 PM Well, after looking for several years on and off, I finally brought home my very own vintage glamper yesterday. She is a 1975 14 foot Dutch Craft. She even has a bathroom! She is all original and needs some TLC and of course glamping up, but I am super excited to be her new momma! She has good solid bones, and I am so looking forward to this project. And I hope you are sitting down for this...I got her for FREE!!! Yes you read that right, she was FREE! Original owners passed away, and their children just wanted to find someone who would enjoy her as much as their parents did for years..and that someone happened to be ME! It was karma of being in the right place at the right time and I am SO grateful! Here are a few pictures of her
And so the journey begins. Wish me luck!

Posted - Jul 07 2013 : 6:56:55 PM Ha ha ha--- cute name Sharon! I have a neat sign in the shape of a teacup- and it says: "The Cup and Saucer- Open from 6am serving Breakfast and Lunch Daily" SO- I was contemplating the name "The Cup and Saucer" . I kind of like that name- it sounds cute and small, like the trailer is, and it fits me because as you know I am an avid tea drinker. So, for now I am tossing that around to see if it continues to grow on me. Hugs,

Posted - Jul 02 2013 : 08:34:36 AM Congratulations Laurie! How blessed to have a gift like her...and how nice for the givers to know you will love and cherish her like their parents did. I am looking forward to keeping up with your glamping efforts. Post lots of pictures, please! And enjoy every moment of the renovation.
I keep thinking of how excited you were with the wall tent and how you wanted to show Ed...'you have to come see this!' and he says, "Noooo....I really don't...." Hahaha, has your hubby said that to you yet? Makes me laugh. We win them over a smile at a time, don't we?

Posted - Jun 30 2013 : 5:02:28 PM Thanks my friends! Nicole- she is not ready for the road (yet). My intention when I got her was to have her as my girl cottage/retreat in the back yard. I currently don't have a vehicle that can tow her (my minivan might be able to, but I don't have a hitch etc ....YET) LOL I have to break the boys in slowly here at home, as neither one of them are very fond of "camping" or glamping etc etc. We will see how things progress! Marly- Texas might be a bit too far of a hike with her, but perhaps someday I can make it there- after all- I've never been to Texas! Margo- YES I was blessed indeed when this camper came along Connie- you are not too far from me- you'll have to come for tea in her one night! You can see my other post with some of the "after" pictures. She is coming along nicely! Hugs,

Posted - Jun 24 2013 : 2:09:39 PM Thanks Nini! Its so darn hot and humid here that I haven't been able to bring myself to stay in the trailer long enough to paint. Maybe after dinner tonight I can get started. although I hate to drag everything out for painting just for a little while, only to have to quit and clean it all up again. Decisions Decisions....LOL. Other than that we did more work on the roof to make sure it is watertight- fingers crossed there! I will be sure and update/post pictures as work progresses. Again- any input or suggestions from any of you "seasoned" trailer gals is welcome. Hugs,

Posted - Jun 22 2013 : 7:03:55 PM LOL- I'll do my best for you CJ! My Uncle put me on the same mission here in NY to find one just like mine for him! I did find a pop up on craigslist for just $250 that looked decent in the pictures, but he wants a hard sided one. I am still in awe that I actually own this and got it for FREE. Still doing the happy dance! Hugs,

Posted - Jun 22 2013 : 3:43:14 PM Thanks fellow glampers!!! I am ALREADY having so much fun with her. I've been cleaning her, and stripping her of her cushions, curtains etc. My Dh keeps teasing me with how happy this lil trailer is making me already. Today I went to the RV store and had to get the "adapter" plug (from 30amp to 15 amp) so that I can plug her in. Came home, ran the extension cord out from the shed to her and VOILA! All of the lights/outlets etc work! YAY. I am not really savvy with some of the other workings, and want to have someone who knows what they are looking at/doing with her before I try things like the the stove etc. My wheels are spinning faster than I can keep up! LOL But, boy is it fun! I have to keep telling myself, one step at a time Laurie. Thanks again for all of the encouragement and if anyone has any suggestions, ideas etc- please pass them on! Hugs,

Go to Pinterest and search for Vintage Campers or Glamping and be ready to spend a couple of hours drooling and getting ideas. You can also then pin them to your own board! Posted - Jun 21 2013 : 8:51:18 PM Well, today I worked on making sure the roof is watertight. I got a spray waterproofing made by Rustoleum, that you can spray in all the nooks and crannies/seams around vents etc. it goes on and dries clear so you don't really even see it. Kinda cool! We also picked out our color scheme ( my daughter and I). Below is the fabric we are doing our dinette cushions in. The picture shows it more of a blue, when in fact the background is really a really pretty aqua. The material is actually quilted and really nice! It looks kind of vintage, and I LOVE it! We got Home Depot to color match paint from the fabric using the aqua and the pinkish rose color for accents. Wheels are spinning and work is beginning!
