If the weather holds, Hubby and I may take some of the girls camping this weekend. We haven't told the girls yet.

We did "glamp" up a teensy bit. Funny thing about that, is that Hubby asked why I had not at first. Ha ha ha!

I guess you can say that glamping is not just for the gathering of women folk now. Even though it was Hubby and the girls, we did put up our lacey curtain, a few tablecloths, an outside curtain, and of course some do-dads for inside the camper.

It was pretty cold the first night there too, and we slept in hoodies, despite electric heaters. The wind wasn't fun either, but we worked around that (ha ha! after we put the awning back in it's holder). Our crocheted blankets kept us warm. One of these days, we will have our own family camper, and I can leave all the blankets and supplies inside it. Vs. having to store it all.

I am glad we had the chance to borrow this camper one more time. It made us figure out want we truly want in our own camper. Hubby is already "surfing" the net for photos of campers and boats (again!).

What a fun time it looks like everyone had despite the weather! I am glad that the camping opportunity worked out and that the family enjoyed their time together. Very fun!

Oh Kristi!
Glad that despite the cooler weather you still had a great family bonding time! Thats one of the best things about camping! I noticed you glamped up the outside of the trailer a bit too, and the inside with a pretty lamp and afghan. NICE!
Giggled at the MEOW story, too cute!

We just met up with her, and she has decided not to sell. She got the tags renewed and allowed us to borrow. YAY!

How about a day long picnic? Leave early, stay late, sleep in your own bed?
FieldsofThyme Posted - Apr 05 2013 : 05:30:43 AM
We just don't have the proper gear to tent camp with the nights still in the 30's, but I'll update you if we do get to go.

We are expecting rain on Monday.

I hear ya Grace--been there done that. I have so many volunteer hours that I put in over the years--mainly when the kids were living with us and Jim worked--now it's time to play. With camping, going to our cabin and road trips we decided it's our turn to play!: ) We still volunteer for special things that are normally held only once a year. Jim is leading a mushroom foray for the LPWR and we take the second graders out there for there end of school field trip. Great fun.
Kristi-hope you get to go on your campout--for many years and sometimes now all we have is a tent--it's so much fun!

oh JoAnn, so true! my problem,,, is between volunteering, grandkiddos etc... it never fails, when the weather is nice... I have commitments to honor... and on bad weather days I grous and then go play in my craft room! lol!
I had to wrap up both trailers yesterday because I saw on the weather report we have a good week of showers/rain/drizzles... and in all honesty, I don't mind.... as we still have not turned the hydrants on yet.

Kris, Darn, sorry to hear your 'relations' want to sell the trailer so fast, wish they would let you have this weekend. oh, family!

Grace ya know we need the rain or they will be talking about fire danger. I've learned you don't wait till you "want" to go camping you go when the weather is fine. One of the benefits of being "retired"

While I was posting, Hubby got a call. His nephew said his wife (they are split up and getting a divorce), wants their son to come pick up the camper and put a "for sale" sign on it, where she is living now. They want to pick it up today.

They are calling for temps in the 60's now. Yeehaw!
Also, my nephew told us that the woman wanting to buy his camper never called back, so we may get to borrow it one more time (vs. tent camping). The kids have school, but Hubby and I plan to drive the camper over and set up before they get out school

I think this is just what the "doctor ordered." There is still a bit of weighty atmosphere in my home.

I'm not sure where you are in Ohio, but here in Northern Kentucky, south of Cincinnati, it's going to be mid 60's and sunny. We're planning a picnic (I need to clean out the car!) and my little one is over the moon. She loves to use my big Longaberger picnic basket that sits up on top of the fridge. I kept telling her when the weather breaks, and now I'm hoping it will be what they say!
