Posted - Nov 15 2012 : 08:28:02 AM I am now the proud owner of a 1969 15" Kit Companion trailer. Let the glamping begin! It even comes with a "furnace" but I don't know if it works--the previous owner said it did but she was quite the little fibber: ) Looks in pretty good shape for it's age. One big thing we have to do is getting the wiring so we can legally drive it around. Jim is no electrician but he said it will be fun trying: ) Are there any books on this subject? We need lots of help! |

Posted - Nov 16 2012 : 07:29:20 AM Thanks for the information. I think Jim has been googling-- he mentioned something about a converter kit of some kind he can buy.

Posted - Nov 15 2012 : 9:28:08 PM How exciting JoAnn! Like Grace says, there are lots of resources available online if you search google for "trailer wiring diagram" or similar. The important thing is to know what type of connectors you are going to use between the tow vehicle and trailer before you start wiring. Some newer vehicles require a converter to go from a 5 or 7-wire system on the truck to fewer wires on the trailer. I recently had to rewire one of our work trailers and had no trouble finding diagrams to reference. It's a very satisfying feeling when you get it done and everything lights up. Good luck!
Cheers! ~ Marilyn
