I sooo wish I could go camping this summer. No camper, only a tent that would hold two, and no money to pay for anything. What a bummer!!!

God bless,

How about barn storm instead of brainstorm? We plan on making the Farm Chicks show along with a million other things we have scheduled but I'm sure we'll run into each other. Potluck Friday night in CDA, Tito's Sat., then Sunday I'm the keynote at the CDA resort for 150 women engineers, soooooooooo I can't get too crazy over the weekend. (No shopping 'til I drop.) The gals in our store are planning lots of fun treats for glampers, so please DO stop in. Otherwise, I'll see you at the show!!!

Oh and Kayla Roberts will be Glamping with us... If I recall correctly, she & her Hubby were at your FarmFair 3 years ago in CdA. Talking about organic farming... or do I have her mixed up with someone else?

Hey Mary Jane,
Sounds like a great idea!! Sure wish "Birdie" and I could join all of you girls there . . but we cannot! I think she is going to put up a little tent inside her house that weekend. It's WAAAAYYYYY TOO HOT to camp outside there! Her hubby and son will be gone.
Anyway, wish we could but hope you girls have tons of fun!
Hugs!!!

I think I'm going to set up my new "glamper" tent in the yard for National Glamping weekend, doll it up and invite a couple girlfriends over for a "Tent Glamping Sleep Over". I can't pack it up and go anywhere that weekend but I CAN do that.
Set up the croquet set in the yard, make 'smores over the firepit, sing campfire songs, stargaze (it's easy to do that here because our skies are CLEAR!!!!)
Anyone who wants to come over . . . come on!!!

I LUV it!
Camping at the "Star Light Hotel" (camping under the stars)...

I have a friend over here who's DH built her a 'tent cabin' on their property, along with a sweet sitting area & outdoor shower. They ran electricity out to it so he could watch T.V. while chillaxing on the queen bed in the cabin tent. hmmm, me thinks he built it more for him than her! lol!

I head out in 9 more days for a 4-day Glamping event..I can hardly wait!

As for glaming up the tent/trailer... I still believe the local Thrifts are the perfect places to shop!
I just bought some cute Hawiian deco goodies for a friend as well as some 'Tommy Bahama' type curtains that will work perfect for her trailer... I also found a vintage metal rolling cart (like the kind gramma's used in their kitchen with the clear & glitter wheels).. I'll spary paint it to match my Farmgirl trailer,,,most likely in red...
I also found a cool Ice Bucket,,,perfect to use as a vase, or storage or as an actually ice bucket! lol!

Well of to the sewing room,,,
Happy Trails!

Laurie, we camp quite a few times during the summer, if the weather is right. We bought a very old small camper last year and love it. We camped for many many years in a tent, but I cannot sleep on the ground or those cots anymore since I got my new hps and shoulder. We also used to set up a big 4 room tent in the yard and when it was hot out, we would sleep out there. So much fun, so little time. In 2 years we are getting a motor home and traveling the whole country. Can't wait to see the beautiful land that we live in.

Janet-
I hope you have a wonderful time camping! And of course praying for good weather for you. Do you camp often? Are you tent camping or do you have a trailer? I grew up camping on the beach and loved it. My husband- not so much. He isnt really one for camping, but hey- we've only been married for alost 18 years, so there's still time to break him in! Ha Ha. Thats one of the reasons having my tent set up in the backyard works for both of us. I get my itch for sleeping in a tent under the stars satisfied and he can still be "home". Works for all of us. Plus if the kids decide in the middle of the night they want to go inside- the house is only a few hundred feet away! LOL
Enjoy!

Laurie, that sounds so nice having your tent set up all summer. Hope you get lots of use out of it. Hubby and I are camping starting next Monday until June 3rd. Can't get the campsite until then. It has electricity, so that will be a luxury for us. I will be looking for thngs to "fancy" it up all week. Just hope we have nice weather.

Grace,
Just set up my new 2 room tent in the backyard yesterday! It was a gloriously beautiful day here on Long Island! I just started to Glam it up...queen bed with a pretty antique quilt, etc. I am working on how I can hang some curtains in there too and my DD is SO looking forward to decorating it with me. I set it up way in the back of the yard, where it is kind of close to the woods that buffer the back yard to give it the effect of really being "Camping". We are on 3/4 acre so I do have a little bit of room to play! I also have campfire area back there, and have set up adirondac chairs with a little table. I will also be fixing the area around it up so that I can have a little table etc back there too. Might even move my clawfoot tub back there to do my outdoor baths. Havent decided for sure, but all of this planning and scamming sure is FUN! We had heavy rain today and when I came home I checked the tent and it was totally dry- so that is a good sign it can handle some weather. I plan on leaving it set up all summer and into the fall.
I will be sure and post pictures when it is "complete".
Thanks and happy glamping!

~Laurie
