for the 2012 camping season.

Splitter for fire wood
Camping mirror.
Steak knives - I only have 2 or 3. I'll go garage sailing for these.
Fireplace tongs. - easier way to move logs when I'm cooking.
Hammer

Storage box to go on front of our pop-up. I have a storage deck that we put our bikes on - we can put a 4 wheeler up there it's big enough. I'd like to be able to get some sort of tote for extras to transport to camp.

Large rug for outside the trailer. We had an astro turf rug, but it was too big to store. Any ideas on something camping friendly?

Small mop to keep in the camper.

bag for my campfire grill stand. I'm going to sew one. The fabric needs to be sturdy. Ideas?

Wheel chocks. We use wood now. I'd love to get some for dh.

Small rug for inside. I threw my last one out.

I think that's it for now. I'm working on my camping binder trying to get things in order. In the event dh announces we're going camping this month. I need to be ready.

How about you? Anything on the wish list?

We are having warmer weather, but the ground is so wet still. Thunderstorms are rolling in this weekend again too. Hmpf! Mornings are so wonderful here too. Such a bummer we can't camp right now.

All I wish for is warmer weather. My truck and tent are all ready to go. I won't camp if it is below 20 degrees. So I guess I will have to be patient. I need to go camping and fishing soon.

Stress relief: go fishing, play in the dirt. go on a road trip, talk to a farmgirl.

Well, Debbie . . . when you go "tent glamping" with me you won't have to bring a lot of that stuff . . . I have it and it's all packed in luggage ready to go. Just washed things from last week and re-packed . . ready to go again!
EXCEPT for that tent! AND, Robin brought the chairs which were older, fell apart while glamping . . .and got thrown in the trash. I have my own but she brought them so I didn't have to make room in my car for chairs.

BTW: Don't forget the can opener . . .:)

CJ,
We need to invest in a new tent also. Not all of us can fit in the camper - ha ha ha! Our tent is over 7-8 years old and has rips, holes, and tears. We let the kids put it up here for backyard camping. Hey! Just realized they could backyard "glamp" too.

On my wish list right now is just to go camping, will worry about the other things when it happens. I have the basics: tent, sleeping bag, blow up mattress, potty:-), cook stove, dishes etc. All the other things I have on my wish list like the Canvas walled tent like Mary Jane has will have to come much, much later.
I have so much to relearn that I am hoping my BFF's CJ and Marilyn will be able to help me out with all the things I have forgotten:-)

Farmgirl Hugs,
Debbie

Robin and I are shopping for a new and better tent! After the storm that came through our "glamp-site" last Saturday night/Sunday morning!

We borrow a pop-up, so each family has purchased items to keep in the camper.

Dh's nephew even bought a section of that fake grass patio covering (have no idea what it's called), for placing outside the camper. It's easier, and larger than a rug. I can wash it down with the hose, while it's hanging on my clothes line, to clean it before storing it again.

I also bought a set of TV trays with stands at the thrift store recently. Yay!

My wish list:

~a basket broiler for campfire cooking

~coffee pot that brews faster than making it over the fire
like this one: http://www.basspro.com/Coleman-Camping-Coffeemaker/product/45459/92105
(dh can't wait for coffee make over the fire, ha ha!)

I guess I'll have more on my list after we camp for the first time this year. I usually keep a list of what to pack, but a binder sounds like a nice idea too. To keep recipes etc. How do you make yours?

Farmer Judy Posted - Mar 04 2012 : 7:59:48 PM
My wish list is small right now, it starts with the family being willinh to camp. since we lost about everything, travel trailer, house etc. we have not had the means, time or money to camp. We really need a break, we had bought our friends a tent years ago and when my girlfriends MS got bad enough that they cannot use it anymore they gave it back to us. We can probably fit into it if we stow everything else outside. It's better than nothing right now. Maybe I can talk them into putting it up in the backyard when the weather gets better to "try it out again". Wishing I can go the the WI FGOL in June, we'll see.

God bless,

Judy

Large rug for outside trailer: I got some green mesh stuff by the yard at Home Depot that was for indoor/outdoor areas. It was lightweight. I used it on the floor of the horse trailer (after cleaning) so that the hauling area could be used as another room for our clothes, riding gear and hay. I also had a large piece under the awning of the trailer to minimize debris in the trailer. It worked great for years. I could sweep it off easily with a broom. Because it was a tight mesh, I could hose it off. When we got ready to leave I would just fold it up and store it in the boot box. Last year my sister-in-law bought me a vinyl rug (burgundy!) with horse motifs for the same purpose. Now I just use the green stuff in the rear of the trailer.

Bag for campfire grill stand: Cordura is a great fabric for outdoor use. Any canvas should work as well as heavy denim.

Good luck with your search.

I actually think that I have everything I need for camping, both at the trailhead and packing in. So my wish list only consists of the wish TO GO!!!!
