I posted this on another thread. Hope it is OK to paste it here.
I also do a lot of pre cooking at home. If I'm making anything with browned meat it gets done at home and frozen. If there is elec available a crock pot is awesome to use. I prep all chopped veggies at home. Potatoes get pre washed at home. I do as much as I can at home where things are more convenient!

We have a favorite breakfast I'll share with you.
Campfire French Toast-A loaf of unsliced sourdough bread, torn into chunks that will fit on a roasting stick. Mix up your french toast egg mixture in a tall drinking glass. Put the bread on a stick, dunk and cook like a marshmallow over the fire. A shallow dish with syrup and another with melted butter to dunk after cooking and almost no clean up!
Another thing we like is campfire pigs in a blanket. Make them at home and bake. At the campsite just put one on a stick and roast over the fire till warm through. This works better with a yeast bread than biscuit dough recipe. Biscuit tends to fall apart. You can buy these at the grocery already made in the freezer section if you don't mind that. This is perfect for folks that get up before the cook and want to eat.

A Great resource for camp cooking is the boy scouts! Contact a local troop leader and ask if they have a cook book for sale. I have one and absolutely love it. Another place to look is a cast iron cooking cook book. Most of the recipies can be cooked conventionally if you don't want to cook in cast iron with coals.
