I always talk to this guy at the thrift store, always have nice chats and thought he was a decent person. He had told me once where he lived and going past it the other day saw he had a "vintage" trailer for sale. When I saw him in town this past week I asked him about it and called when we got home from our cabin and made an appointment to see it today. He said to come by today at 11:00 (I was excited and wanted to come earlier)When Jim and I got there we noticed there was no camper in sight. Knocked on the door and his wife answered and said he wasn't there. I told her we had an appointment to see it at 11 and she said he sold it last night! I am more disappointed that he acted like this than losing the camper. I usually see him on Mondays at Goodwill. First he's getting the cold shoulder and if he dares to talk to me I WILL tell him I am deeply disappointed in his behavior (if not more: ) JoAnn

Oh I know this happens way to much but like I said this was with someone I know not a stranger. It's the one reason I was so excited, I didn't have to deal with a stranger. So unless another one drops in my lap I'll be happy to decorage or redecorate our vintage camper, our little cabin in the mountains or my home. JoAnn

I had a similar thing happen to me recently on a much smaller scale-I was at an estate sale and had a great aluminum bowl in my hand for $1. It was one of the medium size deep ones. All of a sudden one of the ladies running the sale came and took it out of my hand and said it was already sold to someone else. I was speechless and if you knew me, you would know that is shocking. I had several other things in my hand, which I just put down and left. I dont need their stuff that bad to be treated that way. My mom lives in the town where the estate sale was, and the ladies running it run a resale shop too, and neither of us will go there again.

I heard many times the story of making and appointment to see something and it's sold before you get there--that's usually with someone you don't know. I know this person and thought he was a decent sort and wouldn't do that. JoAnn

Heather, have had that happen too, 1 to many times, so if you are not there within 15 min.s of the time agreed upon, and no phone call, I'll keep it, before I will sell it to you...

People do this often, drives us insane, why not just call and tell us before we arrive or wait around for you for the appointment! UHG. Many times we have stayed home waiting on some one to show for a appointment and they don't come or call! We do have other things we would like to do too you know, besides wait around the house for some one not even attempting to come! UHG! Drives us up a wall.

That happened to me once over an old iron bed, headboard and footboard, drove 60 plus miles to go get it, had an apointment for 10am, got there at 9:45, and saw it going down the road in someone elses truck, and was told very rudely that they offered him more, didn't even give me a chance to bid over those people, so I very nasty like told hime, its a shame you are a idiot, cause I would have paid you up to $200.00 more...sorry about your loss...

I am so sorry you lost the trailer, but more sorry you were treated that way. When something like that happens to me, I just hope I get to see something bad happen to that person. It might not be the right thing, but it does make me feel better.
