We are going to do a bit more camping this year. I want to bring my sewing machine along. I have cards I want to make and I scrapbook. I just hate bringing a planned project to find out I forgot ONE thing. Any advice or suggestions to what you ladies bring along to keep your hands busy? I also crochet but a little done with that right now. Thanks, Carol

I so agree,,(hand projects) I even put 'UFO' projects in large recycled zip close type bags so they are easy to pull out of the container....
I find more times then not, I usually get a lot more 'yoyos' done when I go camping,,,,easy peasy project to work on while sitting out by the fire pit yacking with the gang.

my favorites for camping are knitting projects or i am handstitching a hexagon quilt and that is a really good time to sew tiny hexagons together. Definitely prefer hand projects, something that can travel in a bag.

I actually have a rubbermaid type container, about 2x3 ft in size....and I stuff it with unfinished projects...then I can pull out what ever catches my fancy to work on. I have brought my portable sewing machine and a T.V. tray as a makeshift table,,,but honestly I prefer hand crafting projects.....

I bring small scraps of fabric, a plastic circle cut from a coffee can lid, needle and thread to make yo-yo's. They don't take long, don't take up much room, and no great loss if something happens to the supplies. I also knit a little if it isn't too hot!

Happy Camping!

I bring my camera and knitting as well. I have thought of bringing my sewing machine but would so cry if anything happened to it! My needles are much easier to transport and replace if needed. (thinking of beinging some needlework as well, stitch those farmgirl badges, lol)
