Posted - Mar 17 2011 : 11:56:27 AM Are there any farmgirls out there into this? My daughter and her husband just got into it. They are having a blast, but not many ladies involved in this? So I was wondering. My daughter has never been the girl to hang out and visit by the campfire. She was the one hiking, looking around for outdoor adventure. I am sure that among farmgirls she will find fun, common ground.
Would love to hear thoughts from you ladies!
Blessings, Linda

Posted - Mar 18 2011 : 08:17:24 AM I never have the patience. I'd rather just kick rocks up and down the stream. I have found LOTS of fishing tackle though. DH scored an awesome metal detector on ebay. I would like to take a vacation to N. Californis/s.Oregon this summer. My mom lives on the Rogue River. Gold I tell ya.

Posted - Mar 18 2011 : 07:35:13 AM My father & husband pan for gold. We're going to Canada this summer and my dh wants to bring his panning goodies.
We have gone gem mining. Ruby mine in North Carolina. That was fun. Hubby found a 42kt. ruby for me. We had it cut & set. (having it reset now in a better ring). My girls have earrings & a pendant from mining their own ruby's.

Posted - Mar 18 2011 : 05:43:44 AM It has been quite awhile since I last panned for gold. . . something we have decided to give a try at again this year. For me a fun vacation, loved doing it with my Dad and Grandfather.
Like your daughter, I was never content sitting around a campfire when there was exploring to be done!!
