Posted - Oct 04 2010 : 08:07:40 AM Our local hardware store rents a splitter for $25 for 4 hours. Can't beat that price. It spilts double the wood that I could in 4 hours!

Posted - Sep 21 2010 : 11:16:04 AM We split wood last season, but with a log splitter. I ran the splitter, my son ran the chain saw, and the kids stacked wood. This season I have been splitting stump pieces that range from 2-3 feet wide and about 1 1/2 feet tall. The stumps are very hard wood so it's giving me a work out. The log pieces are splitting after a few hits. I grew up in the city as a child.

Posted - Sep 13 2010 : 1:07:03 PM I have split wood for many years. As a kid and a adult. We have always burned firewood, so comes with the territory. If you have wood that splits easy, you can do alot in a few hours. But if it takes more then one pop, it is work. Great excercise though. Keep at it! Michele |
