Hi, I just posted earlier about traveling through AR this summer. I neglected to say anything informative about myself or even interesting. Maybe I can correct that to some degree. I live in the country of Florida,(yes, there actually is some left) it's not all Mickey Mouse and Shamu. We live in W.Central FL where there are still a lot of cow pastures and open, green undeveoped areas left. We only have a little over 4 acres but it is plenty to keep up when the rains start back up. We live in a barn that we remodeled into a pretty neat home, all of our "city" friend love it. I still grow a garden with some vegi's and lots of flowers however, I feel a little guilty watering things when we don't know how long it will be this dry.
I grew up #9 out of 10 kids 6 of them boys on a buffalo ranch in northern MN. We had huge gardens, lots of flowers and no small amount of fun and foolishness always.
I now am a natural soapmaker, using only a slight variation on the recipe that my parents used when we were kids.
I am about to open a soap shop in our area. I'm scared to death but life's for living so I'm living my dream. take care Anita

Hi Anita!

You four acres sound great! Welcome to the forums. Alot of us here like to make soap also and I hope all goes well for your shop! Since there are so many tourists in Florida maybe that will give you a good seasonal customer base.

Cheers!

Alee

Hi Anita,

Glad to know there are still some rural spots in FLA. My brother lives an Jacksonville, and I actually used to work for "The Mouse". Talk about surreal!! I'm now living my dream in Rural NC and married to a local farmboy.

I stumbled on this forum about a year ago and have really come to look forward to chatting and sharing ideas and thoughts w/ everyone.

I'm not a soap maker, but we all share a common bond.

Welcome and enjoy!

Anna

Hey Anita! I got your email and would love to get to know you more! I know you're new to the "forum style" of friends, so you might want to repost your introduction under Welcome Wagon (I was looking for you there after I read your email and stumbled on your post here.) I can't wait to get to know you better and I'm sure you'll love it here, getting to know everyone.

Katee

The end will justify the pain it took to get us here.
