I'm going fishing this weekend and on the off chance that I do catch some trout, I have never had to dispatch or clean my own fish before. Any tips?

Most generally by the time you have gotten them home they have not had enough oxygen & they die. We put them on a stringer & keep them in the water until we are ready to leave & then put them in a bucket but they don't last long there.I think they are supposed to be moving through the water to get their oxygen & they can't get enough in a bucket.

Don't laugh, they sell (least ways they use to) a "Fish Bat" that looked like a little baseball bat..to, well you know....
I prefer Catch & release.....no mess lol!

Well, I think I have a handle on cleaning it after watching Karla's suggested webpage but how about before that - do you use a mallet to end things quickly for it? That's the part that has me a bit squeamish.
