Posted - Jul 13 2010 : 12:41:31 PM That is so cool! I've had possession of a camper for 2 years and finally got ownership a few months ago. Your blog was the inspiration I needed. After having her for so long and not being able to really do anything since I didn't own her, the drive to paint and decorate started to fade. She's a 1975 FAN - not as old as I would have liked but the price was right - $50. THANK YOU for sharing - I love what you've done!
Blessings, staci FG# 973 :o )

Posted - Jul 11 2010 : 6:45:16 PM CJ, I get down that way from time to time. Visit mom at her time share in Pagosa and Jeep in Silverton all the time. We have family in Montrose so we get to the southwest often. My kids will be in Silverton in August. I won't be going this time, Me and hubby are going to a wedding in Taos. We are taking the camper and will be taking the old church scenic route. So lots of pictures should be taken.

Posted - Jul 11 2010 : 08:38:53 AM JoAnn, I used regular Krylon. AS long as you don't turn the burners up to their highest point, which you shouldnt ever have to with a gas stove, the paint remains heat resistant. I got this little hint from Grace "Katmom". And it really does work I've cooked many meals on mine. The only problem I had was with those camp toasters, that discolored the paint so we had to redo a section. Now we have ranch toast toasted in the pan! Problem solved!!

Posted - Jul 11 2010 : 05:00:09 AM Thank you Grace! Still looking for a second one. Came across a whole area this weekend fishing that has an old glamper sitting in the pasture or sideyard. I took down some addresses and will be trying to find the owners for my next project. Hopefully a bit older this time.
