READY... SET... almost time to GO...
This tour was just a mere thought when cabin fever hit back in January and now the time has come to see it through fruition. To pack, make lists, pack, make more lists, unpack, repack and make phone calls to make sure everything is in place. Six states and seven locations later there should be farmgirl- tour inspired quilts, journals and so many photos Kodak would be jealous.
Look out here comes......FARMGIRLS ON THE LOOSE !!

Thank you to everyone who helped plan the tour. April couldn't have made it this far without you . Diane thank you for the stepping stones. They will be a big hit in Pepin, WI and Independence, KS.

Thank you to MaryJane Butters for the packages sent ahead. The farmgirls will be excited for the contents, but mostly to have the feeling you are with us on the tour.

Please include a small prayer for farmgirl safe travels.

Rene wish you were going to be there. Best wishes with your new job. Keep in touch.

Look forward to sharing the tour.

Thanks Diane, The flooding was really bad. The three houses around me, on my side of the street, had water up to the top of their basement steps. The two people across the road from me both had three feet of water in their basement. I was blessed... I have a beaver system which is two pumps that were able to keep up with all the water. So, I just had a bit of moisture on the cement and no damage except I threw out the two area rugs that I had on the floor. I didn't want to take any chances. It is good to talk with you again.

Julie,
Where have you been? I hope all is well with you. I was thinking about you when I heard about the flooding in Arcadia. I can't believe you saw this post just now! It was an awesome trip. I went on the Farmgirls on the Loose Women of the Wild West Trip this last summer. Put on over 4,800 miles out west and ended up at MJF B & B. You should look at that post while you are at it!

Oh my! Some farmgirl graffiti for the Queen Bee! I signed it right above her left knee on the ruffle that is folded back.

I am so happy you received the package.
For those who don't know the Farmgirls on the Loose made and had signed a pink no-frills frilly MJF apron with emboidered pockets. Also, we included a journal for sentiments from farmgirls we met along the way.
Yes, Nick Ogle is one of the best of the best. He said he would keep the secrect and he did. AWESOME husband. Thank you .

Well, the apron has over 2,200 miles on it. It was signed by young women in restaurants, the staff at each Laura Ingalls Wilder site,
Owners and staff of several quilt shops, the gift shop staff of Seed Savers in Decorah, IA, many farmgirls sisters and a few clients of mine who are fans of the magazine I bring to work for them to read.( older gals with roller sets). There are signatures from the many jounalists who interviewed farmgirls for their publications, so so many dear fans/readers of MJF.
The journal.. the same. Just sentiments from farmgirls across the many, many miles we traveled.

Enjoy...

Wende

You "loose" girls are the VERY best! Hubby brought me your package today (I was tending to our store garden in town) with a big smile, telling me he HAD kept the secret secret, just like he'd promised. (Wende?) Tonight I get to savor it and read every detail and every name. What a great way to spend a Friday night. Photos and details on Monday!

Diane , I love your pics. Need to make a photobucket for the blog site too.

I had a blast with all of you.

We are thinking the next Farmgirls on the Loose might be at some of the STATE fairs coming up this fall.

Tossing around the idea. Let me know what you think.

Wende
Thanks again to all the farmgirls who have followed the tour online, too.

Today I went to Walmart in Decorah and bouth a ton of stuff for the food pantry as our project giving. Joan Nelson was excited to see me and we had a good chat.

Thank you to Eric for allowing us to stay on the farm for two days.

Great pics Diane! Wish I had been there with you girls! I was just looking at an article in "Family Fun" magazine yesterday about the LIW museums and homes and such and I said to my DH, "I'll never get to go there. I have no daughters and my boys would hate it. But I am so fascinated and curious and I would love to see it all someday." He replied, "You're right. The boys wouldn't enjoy that at all." :( Sighs.....

Had a great time in Pepin! Friday morning it was storming but cleared up just in time. We fixed up the two gardens in front of the LIW museum there. It was wonderful to meet some fellow farmgirls! Wende, you are so full of energy and spunk. April, you really are a little sunshine and your beautiful children are rays. Bonnie, you are such an inspiration. Julie, you are a great hostess. Let's get together and play in the dirt again! Sneak peak at a couple of photos...more to come from Wende and April.
