We're going to camp in our camper tonight for the first time. I have lit all of the pilot lights and we have a working stove, fridge and furnace. We are set to go! Sure, we will only be camping in the driveway, but it's good to check that everything works correctly before you venture far from home, right? The boys are super excited!

Oh goodness, that brought back memories. We had a VW camper van when I was a kid and my best friend and I got to "camp" in it in the driveway - we woke the neighbors across the street up with our giggling. We always had such a good time - I hope you guys did too!!

When my girls were young they camped in the driveway in our pop-up throughout the summer. They still talk about the fun they had.
Although the story about my one daughter at 15 sneaking out to go skateboarding with a boy is NOT one of my favorites

Have a BLAST!! My 4 midwife friends were supposed to come over for a sleepover today, to ride horses, do make overs, and sleep in tents. 3 of them had births today, though! So have a great time for all of us!!!

Siobhan, is it all done? That sounds like such fun. I want to go camping so bad. My parents bought a newer camper to stay in when they come visit and have bought a house here now. So they gave us the camper. I am planning on going camping this summer and fall. I hope ya'll have the best time in your camper in the driveway!

Had to laugh. We camped in our side yard to try out our camper. Then we moved about a half mile into the pasture. Now we are ready for the big adventure. I can't hardly wait!!!! |

Some of my best childhood memories are from camping in the backyard! So excited for you and your family. Sounds like your camper will be part of some great outings this summer. Don't forget the smores!
