Posted - Jul 23 2009 : 12:51:24 PM We are considering tent camping in Florida this Oct. It has been years - okay a decade since I was tent camping! Then we just crawled in a two man or slept in the bed of the pick up with a tarp thrown over a limb above us. Well, my son and husband wouldn't even consider that so I need advice. I would love pictures of how yall set up your campsites - and any advice for a novice! |

Posted - Aug 03 2009 : 09:20:32 AM We went camping last month..but I just pitched the tent and had a couple of camp chairs. No extra fancy stuff. Oh and I did try a new "screen tent" over the picnic table but we ended up hardly using that space at all. We only did 2 nights this time...for longer, I'm sure I would've done more. I like a "clean" campsite without a lot of extra stuff. Easier to pick up and move. We didn't swim this time either (too cold) otherwise I would have run a line between a couple trees for towels/suits. I used the trunk as the "kitchen". |

Posted - Jul 30 2009 : 3:18:46 PM How funny! Well, now if you have to stay at the resort to save money then "ya gotta do what ya gotta do". There will always be more opportunities to camp! LOL!

Posted - Jul 30 2009 : 08:21:03 AM Well, we were going to camp at Fort Wilderness at Disney World (which I call sanatized camping its so clean) and somewhere on the way there and back but that has changed. Disney just offered free dining if we stay at a resort so it will end costing us $300 or so more to tent it than to stay at the one of the resorts. As much as I wanted to camp I can't justify that. I am dissapointed about that. Still plan on camping this fall. Van Buren, MO and maybe on into AR. |

Posted - Jul 29 2009 : 08:48:22 AM Hey, Jinia! We went tent camping in Florida recently. We stayed at Falling Waters State Park and had the best time. It was so clean and there was plenty of trees, shade and privacy. We had a water spigot, clothes line, picnic table, fire pit and electrical outlet at our campsite. The bathroom wasn't too far away and they also had a dish washing station. We had so many conveniences that it felt like we were spending the night out in the backyard. We REALLY liked that, since all of us weren't into roughing it.
I will try to help you with whatever questions you may have!
