Posted - Jun 24 2009 : 5:58:13 PM Camp is going great. By far the best project was making the twig tables from Mary Jane's Outpost book. The teens LOVED the project and were so proud of the results. Tomorrow we start work on recycling an old building into a new usable barn. We have the old frame and are going to cover it with new materials. Sara |

Posted - Jun 08 2009 : 5:43:49 PM woodworking activities, make atatls (primitive hunting bow and arrow) fire drill fire making. www.pearloutdoors.com has a lot of fun ideas, and be sure to read "The Dangerous Book for boys" It has tons of ideas. My oldest son is 11 but we use a lot of those things. Firemaking alone takes up a lot of our time (with fire safety of course!) Whittling is good too. Lots of hiking, find a swimming hole!
