My husband and I just returned from taking our son on his first backpacking trip. We spent three days and nights hiking in the Cruses Basin Wilderness in northern New Mexico. It is a beautiful place to visit and explore. Can't wait to go back and spend more time there. My son's three favorite things during the trip napping in his carrier, playing with rocks, and waterbreaks.

What adorable pictures! It looks like your son had a wonderful time! I love those moments when they fall asleep against your back. It's so precious! I always hold my breath just a little and try to soak it in- I alway worry it's the "last time" Nora will fall asleep like that!

I love his grin during the water break! What a great kid!

Carrying Isaac around was only challenging when he got really exicted and would jump up and down and swing side to side. He would through me off balance, but it was great knowing he was enjoying himself so much.

Very cool Christy! I bet you got an extra workout carrying your little bundle on your back!

What an adventure, Christy! Your little man is so lucky to have parents who haven't resigned to "playing it safe" by staying cooped up indoors. Thanks for sharing the pics!
