Posted - Feb 11 2015 : 10:08:12 AM Earn your Farmgirl Jubilee Merit Badge!
Each Other: 22. Farmgirl Jubilee
Beginner Level •Look up the definition of jubilee. Tell us about any special jubilee that you’ve celebrated. What events happened that you participated in? •Read about the British Diamond Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth on June 5, 2012. What events took place? What were some ways that regular people participated in the celebration? •Share two ideas you have for how to celebrate on The Farmgirl Connection chatroom under the Farmgirl Jubilee heading.
Intermediate Level •Plan a local Farmgirl Jubilee celebration with your family and close friends that live nearby. Tell us what activities you did together to celebrate the weekend. Provide photos of the event along with a summary. If celebrated online, provide a link. •Take something homemade to a neighbor or friend who might not know about MaryJane’s Farmgirl Sisterhood. It could be a jar of something you canned, fresh baked cookies, or a simple crocheted/knitted dishcloth. Include a handwritten card about our annual Farmgirl Jubilee celebration and deliver the gift while dressed in your favorite apron.
Expert Level •Organize a Farmgirl Jubilee celebration in your state and publicly invite farmgirls to attend. It can take place at a local restaurant, campground, park, your home, or anywhere convenient for a gathering that people can easily find. Make sure to plan for food, shelter, and a few fun activities. Take photos of your event and post them on The Farmgirl Connection chatroom.

Our Chapter is going to make the adjustment, now that we know Jubilee should be in May 2022. We have learned so much this first year** Since it is a weekend event, we might incorporate some Glamping for the new members. Candy Hogan #8283 |

Posted - Dec 14 2021 : 11:03:51 AM Outstanding Candy on all of your work this past year setting up a Chapter and everyone sounds like they are busy learning and sharing their badge work! It is wonderful that you have 9 members and meet regularly each month and in person when possible.
You are correct about the Jubliee. It is scheduled the first full 3 day weekend in May every year to celebrate the Sisterhood and all the fun we have both online and in person. MaryJane's birthday is May 6 and it may or may not occur during the weekend calendar. Many years the Jubilee does include her birthday but it is not mandatory . It looks like May 2022 is Friday May 6, Sat. May 5 and Sunday May 8. So this year we do get to celebrate MaryJane's birthday as it falls on the first day of the Jubilee!! Yay!!

Posted - Dec 07 2021 : 7:10:50 PM So I am just finishing up my first year as a MJF Sister. I have our Chapter Jubilee scheduled to coincide with the end of the year celebration as an annual event. From what I am reading - should we be celebrating Jubilee in the month of May? Is it because Mary Jane's Birthday is May 6th? I have our Chapter Jubilee scheduled for the end of our first year as an annual celebration It has been a great year, so far I have earned 266 badges - 71 expert levels, been the Chapter Leader, FG Guru, FG Sharpshooter and if I would just submit - I also can get the FG Guide legend. We have 9 sisters in our chapter and always open to more. Brentwood Farm Girls - find us on Facebook, we hold monthly meetings on Zoom as well as in person events and field trips. Candy Hogan #8283

Posted - May 29 2021 : 8:47:49 PM Hay there. The month is almost over but my cards are heading to the post office, finally!! Better late than never, I guess. Jubilee month has been on my mind all May. My goal was to get my son married and celebrate my daughters 10 year anniversary here on the ranch. DONE!!!
Hugs.

Posted - May 12 2021 : 09:15:02 AM I love the friendship bracelet swap Cindy! Thats a cool idea! I'm almost done sending out my cards, 3 more to go! Winnie, I wished I was here earlier in years! What a neat experience that would have been to celebrate same time as Britain! I think of the Queen often now without Philip. I can't imagine her hurt after being together so ling! I just saw a photo of when he dressed up as a royal Queens guard #128130;#8205;#9794;#65039; and pulled a hood joke on her and how she chuckled and giggled. I loved it.

Posted - May 06 2021 : 12:56:19 PM Ohhh, Cindy, I love those ideas of a Jubilee with true blue British ideas. I have never been to a high tea but I am sure it is something wonderful and delicious. I am glad you had fun with the Jublilee Badge too. I actually authored that badge and it happened when Britain was having a big Jubilee for the Queen and so I took those thoughts and came up with the one we have. It is fun to do too!

Posted - May 05 2021 : 6:03:40 PM Well, what a perfect time to earn my Farmgirl Jubilee badge!! Here are my suggestions for how to celebrate a Farmgirl Jubilee - in true British form, I have suggested sharing a “high tea” with fellow farmgirls (including 3-tier cake stand and all); and a friendship bracelet swap to honour our farmgirl friends.
Enjoy your celebrations!

Posted - Jul 28 2016 : 12:35:38 PM Marsha, Go to this link, and it will list all the badges, you can click on whichever one and it will give you requirements. There is also in the body of the text on the first page, a link to the application which you just complete and send. I recommend typing the text for your badge application in a Word document first and then copy and paste to the boxes in the application. That way, if the application doesn't make it to the "Farm" you can just copy and paste again to resubmit. Hope this helps! CJ

Posted - Apr 13 2016 : 2:20:23 PM 2 ideas for my Jubilee: 1. Go clean out my planters and get them ready for some colorful flowers. Divide my 'Elfin Thyme' plants, put them in separate pots, and give them as gifts to friends and family. For those who've never heard of Elfin Thyme; it's a teeny-tiny creeping shrub that you can literally walk on without killing it. You can use it to fill in the spaces between walking stones, or have it cascade out of a birdbath planter. It has a nice smell and has tiny purple flowers. It's a very forgiving plant!
2. Bake some braided bread as a gift for my neighbor, who is in her 90's and lives alone.
