As I think I am the sole London girl on the forums I thought it should be up to me to start an Olympic forum - it all kicks off tomorrow at 7pm (our time) and the city is really buzzing now.

I saw the torch relay come through Kings Cross this morning and am off to look around the Olympic Village this afternoon.

What sports is everyone looking forward to watching

My faves are the gymnastics and diving

I'm just elated the USA won the highest number of medals. Our athletes did great! I loved watching the beach volleyball.

Hi

Yes the opening ceremony went down a storm here - really loved it. Showed Britain as it really is not the Pride and Predjudice image everyone has of us and we hate!!!!!

Best bits were the Queen and James Bond, Czechs in their Wellies and the cauldron was beautiful.

Now watching the sport 24/7 as we have over 30 Olympic channels showing everything live - now we need some medals!!!!!

Hi Sue!

My dh is from Denmark, so we were very excited to see they were in Europe. We recorded the opening on the dvr and stayed up to Midnight watching! Love your Queen! I always had a great deal of respect for her, but to see her go along with James Bond and do what she did, that was great. Loved that she had a sense of humor. Also loved to see how touched everyone was, and how the opening really had something for everyone. Loved all of it: J.K. Rowling, the doctors and nurses, the fact that tickets were given to all the construction workers who worked on it, Sir Paul McCartney, the plants, Mary Poppins, the children who sang for the Queen...it was a memorable, well-done night. Made me so wish I was there!!! Thanks for sharing the pics.
