I'm having an issue with the latest sweater that I'm knitting for Jackson. Take a look on my blog and tell me if I'm crazy. And tell me what you would do!

you could do a duplicate embroidery stitch over that spot with some type of pattern to make it look like that strip is on purpose.

Thanks for all of the advice, my Farmgirl friends! Unfortunately, I am a bit of a perfectionist. There. I said it. :) Therefore,
I ripped back.
I did a swatch test with my remaining two skeins to see if I could tell if they would match up to the original skein that is already knit up into the body of the sweater. Through careful observation and much squinting, I determined (with the help of two knitting friends) that there did seem to be two skeins in one shade and two skeins in another shade.
So the sweater is back on the needles and joined with a skein that I *think* may match up with the sweater better (I'm only four rounds into this skein, so it's too early to tell) and I'll leave the other skeins for the sleeves and hood. Maybe the color difference won't matter as much on different parts of the sweater. A difference in color in the body of the sweater would have seriously bugged me though!
I'm not out of the woods yet...keep your fingers crossed that I picked the right skein!
(And don't worry, I do have a sense of humor about all of this. I just really like the sweater and am really pleased that it's TOO BIG for Jackson now. Normally everything I knit for him fits him for TODAY and not tomorrow. This one has lasting power so I want to get it right!)

I agree with jessica and susan. I think it gives it character. It looks adorable and you are doing a beautiful job. If it is something that you just can't live with then I think Bluewren's idea is a good one! Sorry, sister...

I work in the yarn department at ACMoore and I will tell you that I get this complaint a lot. I sometimes spend my entire evenings trying to find the same dye lots for my customers....but sometimes, when they've run out of a particular yard, I virtually have no way to match it up for them. I think you've done a wonderful job on the aforementioned project for little Jackson and agree with Bluewrenns idea. I often tell my customers that we can see the difference because we know it's there. I wish you the best in whatever decision you make. I think it's adorable. Mommom |

I always tell myself when these things happen that it is how you can tell a human actually made it and not a machine. My sister would say rip it out...I say leave it. Character is always good...and who wants to be perfect anyway? Smile and keep on going. Jess |

I don't know what to tell you. You could try taking out the latest bit and trying the others but you may have the same results. It's possible that someone returned that skein of yarn with a switched out label... but probably unlikely.
How about trying this - if it really bothers you, why not frog it to that point and then knit a thin stripe of a contrasting color in between skeins? If the colors are further apart, maybe the differnce won't be so noticeable... Maybe use a yellow or something that might change the appearance of the yarns a bit. Yellow might add enough light to the green to make that line less noticeable...
