Hello Everyone! I received my book on Monday, along with my box of Farmgirl notecards. The box was sitting by the back gate, thankfully, because if they'd put it inside the gate, my little pot-bellied pig, Willie, would probably have opened it himself!!

To everyone at MJF, you have done ANOTHER OUTSTANDING job of producing an absolutely beautiful book! Everything about it is perfect -- the photography, the instructions, the stories....everything! And those notecards are really great as well! My farmgirl hat's off to you all!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Hugs,
Norma

Denise,
I love the book too. Did you get a new magazine or the stitching one that they show on the site?

WOW! That's what I'm saying to describe this book. I got it yesterday but had so much going on that I didn't get to look at it until late last night and finished looking early this morning. This is a wonderful book. I think I may order a couple more for my daughters. And I received the latest magazine too.
Haven't had much chance to look at that but if it's anything like the book I'm sure I'll be back ordering the rest.

I really thought I'd never learn how to crochet. After I finally figured it out the other day after I got my MaryJanes Stitchery Room book I finished one dishcloth and started another one. I like them alot more than dishcloths I've knitted. Like you Libbie I can't wait to start making lots of other crocheted items.

I'm so glad to hear the review of the crochet instructions.! I can knit, but I don't know how to crochet, and I want to learn - I'm excited to try. I have these visions of lovely crocheted edges on pillowcases, skirts... oh, the list is endless!!!

XOXO, Libbie

Mine came today! And, best yet, it was waiting on my front porch when I came home from the thrift store with a bag full of 1/2-off cotton workshirts to be repurposed for sewing projects!
Oh happy day!!

I just love MaryJane's new Stitching Room book! I read every page of it yesterday and really enjoyed it. I decided to try her directions for crocheting last night. I've never been able to get past the foundation chain on crocheting and that was even with a Crocheting for Dummies book or something like that! Well, I tried MaryJane's directions last night and even though I still couldn't get the part where you turn it after the foundation chain and start a row I was inspired and determined enough to find a way to learn so I tried a crochet tutorial online that I've tried before but this time I think I got it! After it looked like it might have finally clicked for me I started a simple dishcloth and after the first 3 rows I still have 35 stitches! This might all seem silly to some of you but I've tried to learn this for years. Thank you Mary Jane! Now I can attempt some of the projects in your book. I also want to try tatting, never would have thought I'd try that but your directions make it look easy enough for someone like me to learn.

Theresa said that my book was being sent out last Thursday so I was hoping so much for it to get to me yesterday. I was over at my Mom and Dad's and my son called and said 2 packages came so I ran home and opened them but one was a book I ordered off ebay and the other was a John Deere manual for my husband. I was so disappointed! But.... around dinnertime the ups truck came and brought my book!! It is so beautiful!!! I had to look through it quickly last night but I brought it with me to my son's Tuesday school so I'm going to read it thoroughly while I hang out here today. Thank you so much Theresa for getting it to me so quickly and thank you Mary Jane for signing it! I can't wait to try out the crochet lessons. I've had such a mental block when it gets to where you've made the foundation chain and then turn it and start the first row. I think the pictures and directions on here will get me past that point.

I am soo jealous! I have been reading this thread (get it?) and looking at the cover of the book on Amazon and I want it!! We are low in funds this summer, if you know what I mean, as hubby is working from home starting his own business, and therefor not getting paid... So now I'm on a monthly budget... so so so sad... I should have paid and preordered last year!!!
But post your projects as you finish them as it is already on my Christmas list and I will be checkin' out the local bookstores and libraries to see if I can at least get a peek at it!!!
Does it actually have instructions for tatting? I bought a shuttle but have yet to find someone to teach me how to use it! Oh let me know all about it!!

You're all making me want this book soooo bad...and I've already got so many projects going I don't know what to work on first! This sounds like a "gotta have it", though! I might have to drop a hint or two for "Mother's Day"... lol Kate~

OOOhhhh. I am so excited...mine came yesterday and I just got home today to find it. So...if I am not online in the next few days it is because I have my nose buried in my new book. It's the little things that really make a day wonderful!

Oh, Mine came on Friday. What a treasure of a book. Nice pattern, Sunshine and nice mention of your business.

I want to make the apron and the yo-yo pillow, but I have never made them so small before. I need to loacte a kinkos to get my pattern blown up. Such a shame that CopyMax went out of business.

I have only had the chance to skim through it all and just started the deper, full reading. I lvoe the columns on real people and the website links.

Another beautiful book to add to the shelf and pull off often to use.

Went to Kinkos tonight and got the new MJ's pattern blown up. I will be sewing up one of those beauties real soon!! It cost me about $4 to have it blown up on two sheets. So it is about $2 per sheet.

I can't wait to get my copy. I'm going to wait and buy it at the Past Blessings sale. Alee -- the last time I was in Kinko's they used the blueprint machine to copy my apron patter for me. It came out all in once piece -- worked great!
