Posted - Jan 03 2023 : 5:52:01 PM Here's a picture of the quilt top - all I need to add is a 2" black border all around.
Here is the finished quilt top for a swap in our quilt guild. We do not know who is working on "our" quilt top. We were also told not to provide a fabric we were super in love with because it was possible that the person who got it would not have the same view and you may get back a quilt top you weren't in love with. The swap rules were to provide 1-1/2 yards of a fabric we wanted someone to make into a quilt top. The quilt top should be at least 50" x 60". We could give a short list of dos or don'ts, like what colors we did or did not want used, or what we might want it for. The fabric I got was the floral fabric and her only comments were "no orange" and could use red, gold, and green. and this is what I came up with after a lot of searching for a good pattern. Our quilt tops will be revealed at our Feb 12th meeting.
The fabric I gave was an all over animal fabric and I said I'd like a quilt for a baby boy using bright fabrics with the fabric I provided. Since our grandchild is due Feb 15 I figured this would be another quilt for him when I get it done. I can't wait to see what is done with it.

Linda, I love those bright colors of the soon to be quilt top! You stay so busy in your craft room, I would scratch off cleaning it up from your list. You are having too much fun making lovely things for family and friends!!
Same is true for you, Grace. Please don't stop! Too many adorable and creative things happen in you craft room!!

Posted - Dec 31 2022 : 04:23:09 AM Sorry Grace- finishing a project does count as cleaning in my book. It is no longer laying around waiting in your sewing room. Good job.

Posted - Dec 30 2022 : 4:21:36 PM Well, I can't clean my sewing room - I am using it currently. I'm making a quilt top for a quilt guild swap we are doing - and it is going together a lot easier than I had thought it might. WHEEEEEEE! Here's a picture of the block and the quilt (only the top row of blocks is done). The floral fabric belongs to another member. We were to pt 1-1/2 yards of fabric in a bag and then one of the members swapped bags. We are to use that 1-1/2 yards and make a quilt top for the person who owns the fabric. I hope she likes what I came up with. The fabric I brought is an animal print and I asked for a boy quilt top for my new grandson. I'll post when we get them back in February.
When done with the quilt top I will make a couple of the flannel snarfs (at least that is one person's name for the snap scarves). I'll post a picture when I finish one of the snarfs.

Posted - Dec 30 2022 : 3:29:29 PM Cute towel, Grace! Cleaning, purging and organizing my 2 closets in the sewing room was on my agenda today. We came in to town and the afternoon is about over! Maybe tomorrow….that might be a good project for NYE day! Then my room will start out clean for 23.

Posted - Dec 30 2022 : 3:13:44 PM Grace, that turned out super cute. I think completing a UFO is more important than cleaning up the sewing room lol! I always get distracted by things when I try to clean up my craft space.

…
… I have several of these stitched ‚ kitty- Days of the Week Most are on tattered cotton, needless to say, I ironed on fusible interfacing, then used some iron. On fusible webbing to attach the ‚kitty ‚ to the towel… and then zigzagged around the edges.. I just happened to have a scrap piece of fringe trim to add to the bottom of the towel. TaDa!… instant cute. As for my chaotic messy sewing room.. I’ll deal with it tomorrow :>)
