I am thinking about selling some of my designs. The problem is that most of them are created from vintage or repurposed fabric...how do I label them for sale? Would I be better off to use fabrics? I love the vintage ones so much, but...

Thanks, Trina

Now that I am back on line I have the whole NC State law at my finger tips...I'd better get going on that! Thanks again!

I also would label it Recycled for label claim, but I would also check you laws concerning "used fabric" You may need a special license to do it.

I would maybe label it as recycled fabric. I have heard in some places you are not allowed to sell anything to the public that isn't made of new materials, might be worth it to check in your area. For example, you cannot sell a quilt that has a recycled quilt bat inside.

Thanks for your answers way back when! Most of my designs are for skirts, jumpers, and totes. Oh, and I have made a GREAT little girls pesant dress w/ apron jumper.

Label them as one of a kind, that's always a hit. What are you making exactly? I use alot of repurposed and vintage fabric in making my dolls ~ people have come to expect it.

Not sure what you are making but vintage and repuposed fabric is HUGE right now. I would just lable it as "Handbag - made with vintage fabric" or "Re-purposed Apron - Made with found materials" Have you looked on etsy yet?
