Posted - Mar 29 2007 : 09:31:39 AM hey ladies!
I have had a request from grace for a prairie bonnet like her Amish dolls. I have not been able to find JUST the bonnet pattern, only the whole set; apron, bonnet, dress and petti-pants. Honestly, I have all of those patterns already, seperately. I just need th bonnet.
Would anyone have one that they would be either willing to pattern for me with muslin for sale or sell the pattern to me whole? It doesnt have to be a child's size pattern as I can re-pattern it for a kid's head, and heck, I just might want one for myself as well ;)
let me know!! Thanks!!

Posted - Apr 14 2007 : 07:16:27 AM I think the bonnet was from me...is it a black flowered calico w/ red rick rack? Easy mistake, Georgeann and I have the same last name!

Posted - Apr 14 2007 : 06:39:43 AM Georgann you are so sweet! thank you for the bonnet!!! Grace loves it and wore it immediately when I gave it to her!! The funny part was that she had been in character all day dressed in a thrifted former square dance costume and had a shawl on and an apron and I swear she looked like Little Bo Peep on Prozac. She was adorable!
Thanks so much!!

Posted - Apr 04 2007 : 11:38:15 AM Tasha, I have a child size bonnet pattern I'd be glad to muslin for you....no charge......let me know if you still need it. I have the whole praire outfit...an excellent pattern. Haven't made the bonnet yet, but I plan on it for this summer for both girls. Oh, tell ya what I also have an antique hand made little girls bonnet you can have. It is in my sewing stash in the attic. It looks as if it were made by a little girl. I'll see if I can find it. You know, bonnets are a great idea to sew up extra of this spring.
Call me or email me if you want the pattern. G

Posted - Mar 30 2007 : 3:28:29 PM I know I have a child sized small, blue flowered print bonnet I made many years ago when my daughter worked with me doing demos at Fort Delaware living history museum in Narrowsburg, NY. She LOVED wearing the bonnets. I have this great picture of her from the back, blue print dress, white pinafore, black cowgirl boots and her blue flowered bonnet. By the end of the day it was just little Little House on the Praire as it was tied and hanging down her back. Ah, enjoy it all while you can. When they turn 9 or 10, they go into jeans and pants and do not reurn to skirts until teenaged years. Anyway, I know where it is. If you would like it, it is still in great shape as it was the last one made and not worn as much as the others. I am sure I still possess the pattern. It was a various hat pattern from McCalls, I think. Let me know and I will find it and mail it to you. Just email me. It has an elastic inserted in the back to size for the neck, one piece for the head and a wide brim, self fabric made straps. It is so cute.

Posted - Mar 29 2007 : 8:27:16 PM Oh, darn it. I have a pattern for one from Amy Karol (mailorder) that was extremely easy using grosgrain ribbon for the tie. If you still need a pattern, I can see if I can find it and mail it to you. When do you need this by?
