Dear Ladies:

I need some knitting help, please.

Is tubular and elastc cast on the same thing? I am making a baby sweater that calls for this pattern beginning:

Elastic cast on (start with half the number of stiches + 1) with larger needles and auxillary thread cast on 30 sts then cont with (blue color) as foll: Row 1: 1 selvedge st. * k1, yo* 1 selvedge st.

Can you help me figure out what this is? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Hey Sewingwoman! Did you figure it out??

I tried it and kind of like the elasticity of the stitch. Might use it on a pair of socks.

What does the next row say?

I just did a search and found pages about the tubular cast on. The third one listed by Mary Ellen Meisters looks like what you have. I'm going to try it.
