Posted - Jun 15 2020 : 1:26:06 PM Grace, those are adorable! How do you always find the cutest things?!
Dianna, you got this! I think your candy corn looks cute. It just needs another side and could be a baby hat. That’s what it reminds me of! Good luck with your next project.

Posted - Jun 14 2020 : 7:01:26 PM Thank you Linda, Marie, Heather and Theresa! I switched over to another tutorial using double and a single stitch and wow, what a difference! I'm loving this one and Linda, so far so good, no missed stitches as I turn around! Marie, I'm counting! :) I may not disappoint my partner after all!! Yippee!!

Posted - Jun 14 2020 : 10:26:56 AM Grace - I wished we lived closer too! I'd love to teach you to crochet in exchange for some of that fantastic deal finding you're so great at LOL! Those chicks are too cute. Is there a pattern with that picture?
Dianna - stick with it. My first attempts were weird shapes too. Not only did I loose some stitches the first couple times but I would start out with my stitches too tight and loosen up as I went along. I'm addicted now though. I love to crochet. I hope you will too.

Posted - Jun 14 2020 : 09:49:01 AM The secret is to count the stitches every row. I still do it especially when I crochet lace. Adding and substracting stitches is easier than ripping it out to the mistake area - except with lace. Remember also to make a chain at the end of the row. That will raise the row and help make the ends even. I am so glad this project was shared.

I think you are losing a stitch at the ends of every row when you turn to do the next row. You need to crochet into a stitch you think you probably shouldn't, and you may end up OK. LOL. When I first started to crochet, my granny squares ended up circles for the same reason.

Posted - Jun 14 2020 : 08:57:25 AM I used to find things in a shop, buy one, send it to my mother, and she would make me more of them if I wanted. She was great at copying something that was already made. I have some crocheted chickens that go over the top of a soft boiled egg in its stand. They are easy enough and I think I might be able to copy them if I can't find a pattern online.
Grace, If I get up to visit you, or you come down to visit me, I can show you how to make those.

That was my first try. I'll keep trying for my swap partners sake! Roflmbo!
