Posted - Mar 03 2020 : 08:48:31 AM I spotted this on a local 'for sale' site on face book...
I did not make this, nor selling it.. YOYO Quilt from the 1950's.. 50-50 cotton/poly $150.00 a tad steep for my budget... lol!
How cute is this design... it would make a great Spring table topper.
kind of a Dresden Plate pattern...

Posted - Mar 06 2020 : 10:06:03 AM That's beautiful and so much work. If I made one I wouldn't want anyone to touch it! I used to tell my kids to touch with their eyes! Looking, no touching was understood! LoL!

Posted - Mar 06 2020 : 08:49:40 AM back when our grams didn't have time to watch T.V, and in some cases,, didn't have a T.V.,, they had time to sew or crochet or catch up on a weeks worth of ironing! lol!
My mom, learned English by watching soap operas.. she would set up the ironing board in front of the T.V. and iron,, and sometimes, in the evening, while dad watched something, mom would knit.
Me,, I am to scatter brained to sit for to long.. which probably is why I have so many UFO's.. and a gazillion YOYOs in containers.. I really should do something with them...

Posted - Mar 06 2020 : 06:41:01 AM Ohh, that yo-yo quilt is gorgeous! My Mom made a yo-yo bedspread for a single bed and my oldest sister inherited it. When she downsized and moved to assisted living, I am not sure where the quilt ended up. Hopefully with one of her grandchildren who helped pack her up. I have the matching pillow she made at the same time with the dat 1931 on it. Such a lot of hard work and the yo-yos are so small.
Thanks for sharing!

Posted - Mar 04 2020 : 3:37:48 PM Grace, did you buy it? I bet you could make a very pretty one yourself. I like the idea. It would look cute as a picnic bench table topper while you are glamping.
