Do any of you farmgirls make pure beeswax candles? I watched a show tonight on how they make regular candles in factories and I was surprised at all the unnatural stuff they used. Everything was petroleum-based. Candles just feel so homey to me that I never really thought about all the chemicals.

I make rolled candles. The sheets of beeswax are (I think) 12 x 18. I warm them on a griddle covered with a towel and set on low. You can buy cotton wick in rolls for both poured and rolled candles. As the wax melts it fills in the honeycomb texture. Tapers burn neatly - they don't drip or smoke.
