Posted - Sep 26 2019 : 5:18:44 PM I found a couple of my Ribbon Star Ornaments in a stash... I use to make these for Gift toppers at Christmas,,(many years ago).. These are sew simple,,,
![](http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/Snitz/Images/2019/09/DSCF7963.jpg?v 38706715) and perfect for any Holiday, or special occasion. Buy a roll of 1 1/2" ribbon or cut fabric strips.. cut a 4" piece, fold in half and angle cut off the edge.. then curl around and glue the ends... I use a paper clip to keep the ends together until the glue dries... or you can use a glue gun... As you can see, you will need 8 'cones' then glue them together into a circle.. I used Tulle netting around the back. glue on a piece of ribbon or satin cording to hang the ornament. And then decorate the center with flowers or buttons or what ever catches your fancy.
![](http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/Snitz/Images/2019/09/DSCF7965.jpg?v 57424585) You can even cut the edge with pinking shears... I prefer ribbon that is a bit stiff so the cones stay in shape. You can find cute Boo Fest, Turkey Fest, Christmas, Easter.. etc types of ribbon,, I was hoping to find 1 1/2" ribbon with Unicorns on it,,, so I could make a ornament for my Grand girlie who currently is smitten with Unicorns.. I will keep looking..![](icons/icon_smile.gif)

Posted - Oct 03 2019 : 10:38:57 AM I too love these---but they don't look that easy to me. You are so talented and you keep so busy on projects---that it is amazing. If I didn't fool with animals all day and watch a little too much TV---I would have time to sew. Am beginning to think I waste a lot of time.

Posted - Sep 30 2019 : 11:57:59 AM Hummm good thinking Grace! My oldest would enjoy making some ornaments. I'll have him help me pick some stuff out. I seen a really cool ornament yesterday made out of foam that I also want to try. We are going to stay busy.

Posted - Sep 26 2019 : 5:23:20 PM Oh, just a little FYI,,if you want, you can cut out a circle from card stock to glue the cones onto if you want the ornament more firm.
