Posted - Feb 26 2007 : 2:43:39 PM Made this little purse -- an Amy Butler pattern, using garage-sale fabric -- pretty happy with it . . So much so, that I'm making a second one right away (while I still understand how it's made!). Will sell the second at the consignment shop.

Posted - Feb 28 2007 : 10:46:30 AM I love it! The fabric is gorgeous. I am making a crocheted purse right now mostly so that I can work on it easily while we are living in the travel trailer. Hmm I will have to think about making some fabric purses when we get settled in the new house. You have inspired me!!

Posted - Feb 27 2007 : 11:09:47 PM Katie, I have to agree with the ladies, that is an absolutly delightful purse. Hummm, maybe I should pull out some of my old soft-sided purse patterns....infact I have a patteren from the late 60's, {at least I hope I still have it} for a floppy hat....I can just see it now, matching purse & floppy hat,,,,Hey what's old is new again!!! Live & be silly, works for me. Don't forget to post pic's of your current purse that you are working on. tata-4-now.

Posted - Feb 27 2007 : 10:28:43 AM Thanks for all your lovely comments. Makes me feel happy!
Kristine -- To answer your question -- yes, there are two pockets inside. They measure almost the width of the purse (which is about 10" across), so I topstitched to divide each pocket -- I made one 'pockette' the width of my cell phone.
The lining is gray, and the pockets repeat the exterior fabric. For the second purse I made, I didn't have enough floral fabric for the inside pockets, so those are gray, but topstitched in pink.
I'm into this purse-sewing thing! I have a bigger purse to work on tonight -- large-scale fabric with lilies and lily-of-the-valley on it. Will post when finished. |
