Ok ladies I know I said I would never do this again but it like child birth after it is over we forget the pain. LOL I have been using my fat quaters to make tea cozies and crafts. Is anyone interested in a round 2. ? This time I am going to keep the group small. Just 10 people.
I will take signs till March 15 or till full. Then mailed to me by April 15.
Hugs,
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth:

The trip to Vermont was fabulous. My friend's brother just built a house there (will retire to it in about 5 years), so it was geat to have a home to stay in. I love Vermont and hope to live there or right by there in NYS by the border someday.

I sent my fat quarters out this morning. You will have them by Tuesday I think. Thank you for everything. Happy Easter!

It is so sad to sew the art of sewing slip away. As for the fabric stores, more of them are converting to Mega Craft stores. : > (
I find myself visiting the local thrift shops near by and snoop around for interesting skirts & dresses that I can wash & cut apart for fat quarters. I also save the buttons & sometimes even the zippers can be recycled.
A former neighbor was going through an ugly divorce, she tossed out her wedding dress,,,,yes, I pulled it from the trash, box & all. I had a field day recycling the lace, button and satin from the dress, the veil gave me lots of tulle netting & pearls. Needless to say, I had a ton of fun with all that fabric.
It must be true what they say,,, sewing keeps us in stitches!!!!

Oh, how cool to get vintage fabric in this swap. I'm really looking forward to it.

My favorite little quilt store just across the river o nthe NY side, 15-20 minutes away, closed abruptly due to health problems of the owner. When I took my daughter out to the big city, Scranton, to hit the two fabric chain stores there, Hancocks is CLOSING! They are having a great sale, but I was not really prepared to spend gobs there. (sigh) Walmart will be closing theirs out next year. There will be no place to buy just a little bit of what I need in a pinch. I thought more women and young ladies were getting into the sewing craze?

my fabric is mailed I think I put a note in it but not sure can't remember as it was so long ago that I closed the package. The fabric that I sent is older than I am my grandmother purchased it before I was born I actually think it is very cute I hope every one else likes it. ( even thought it was purchased I think in the mid 60's it is 100% cotton.

Hi Elizabeth: I sent my fat quarters out to you on March 9th. I check the confirmation number on my computor everyday and it still says that you haven't received them. I didn't mean to send them pony express! Keep an eye out for them! Thanks, Susan

Hey Katmom or anyone else. Does anyone know of an Internet site to buy fabric? Something reasonable if possible? Thanks Allison

Hey Denise,
I agree,,,there are so few true fabric stores, seems they have all been replaced by crafting supplies.Don't get me wrong, I am a craftaholic, but there was a time when you could look in both mine & my daughter's closet and 2/3's of the clothes where home sewn. Now when I sew a top or dress, apron or anything it is out of love for the art of sewing not economy.
I have found many on-line fabric vendors but I do miss touching the fabric and holding it next to me to see how it drapes. The Joann's store in the next town over has a very small fabric section, but it does have a decent quilt fabric section.
Who knows, maybe sewing will come back into style just like crocheting & knitting.

Grace,
I just hate to see the fabric stores go out of business. As it is we don't have any close to us. The nearest is Joann fabrics and they are an hour away. Always try to wait for a sale before making the trip. We do have Walmart with their craft section but the selection just isn't very good. It's a small store. Oh well, guess things can always be ordered online. We do make a trip to Lancaster once in a while and I try to stock up while we are there.

Hi all,
I am so looking forward to receiving fat 1/4's, not that I have time for anymore projects right now, but just to know that should I find some spare time for myself I will be able to delve right into a project because I will have all kinds of fun fabric to play with.
Our nearby Hancock Fabric store is going out of business, bummer : > ( and has most of their fabric @ 40% off. I hope to get over there in the next few days to stock up.
**renren, did you get the seeds that I sent to you?
well ladies, tata-4-now
