For anyone just beginning embroidery or anyone looking for some neat patterns, check out this site. http://www.sublimestitching.com/

I picked up the book in a local craft store and it's been a great one. It's got information more for the beginning embroiderer but it's got over 100 reusable, I've gotten about 4 uses out of the ones I've used so far, iron-on patterns. Also check out the site for other patterns and info.

Oh Girls,
Found another site that offers free designs to download and then trace onto your tea towels. etc.
It is www.needlecrafter.com.
She has a TON of neat designs on there.

I have been doing hand embroidery a lot lately too. A lot of tea towels for the most part. I can do one in two evenings of sitting and watching tv. I got a ton of fun patterns from Aunt Martha's last week and they are also iron-on. To add a little color, I use crayons to tint them before I sew. That is so much fun and they look great. Sorta like coloring back in the old days.

I also have a fabulous embroidery machine that I love, but I do like something soothing to work with while I watch tv.

LIZ,
Thanks for the info about the stitching book. I just ordered it on amazon used for 9.95. Said it was in new condition never opened. So looks like I will have some new patterns to embroider.

Liz,
I have just started doing hand stitching. I have an embroidery machine and it is much faster and better but..... there is just something about sitting down in a cozy chair for an hour and making something with your hands.
This site looks great. Thanks for sharing.
