I need to attach an appliqué to a granny square that will be apart of a blanket. Do you have a special way of hiding the yarn you used for attaching? Or is it normal just for it to show since it will be on the back? I hope that makes sense. Let me know if it doesn't.

I believe this would be a good choice because it will look good on the front and back.

Hum.. I wonder how that would look all done. Thanks for the idea Marie! I'm going to look at all the appliqués and decide if they would look good that way.

So basically that tambour stitch would create an outline of the pattern on the back, right?

The appliques can then be easily sewn on with a running stitch and yarn or maybe crossed stitches or even crocheted on with a single crochet around the edges or a tambour stitch. I would try the tambour stitch. The yarn used for attachment will stay at the back side of the work. Push the crochet hook through all thicknesses and pull up a loop. Extend the loop as far long on the top as is attractive then push the gook back through and pull up a loop from the back and through the loop just made. It appears to look like a crocheted daisy chain. Here is a link for the technique:

Yes Marie. They are crocheted.

Are the appliques crocheted?
