Does anyone here do crazy quilting? I love too CQ, but I desperately need new glasses before I can work at it anymore. I was thinking about selling bags on Etsy with a CQ block on them. If you do happen to CQ, where do you get your supplies? Laces, ribbons, embroidery floss, buttons, beads and everything else?

Take care, Melissa.

I love your blocks, very pretty. I have been looking at a blog -pintangle - and it also inspires me to start a crazy quilt. I like your blocks more
Thanks for sharing

How have you come on your Crazy Quilt? I've never seen one worked with anything but velvet, satin and silk. I think it's looking lovely.

Thank you Jill. I really enjoyed making them. Now, I just need to figure out what to do with them. I've been on Etsy for ages today, trying to decide what to charge for the final product. I'm still lost there, but I did find a bunch of sellers for embellishments and fabrics! :)
I was looking on Pinterest and they have lot of ideas for stitch journals there.

Take care, Melissa.

Those are beautiful Melissa. And thank you for posting about your Embroidery school blog Allison, it looks really helpful. I've done my first embroidery class and am working on a little needlebook sampler right now. I'm quite enjoying it although obviously I'll need a lot of practice.

Your work is beautiful. My favorite is the pink block too. There is a group on Facebook called crazy quilt divas. Lots of eye candy, info and sources to get supplies.

The pink block was my very first one. The lavender was my second and I'm still working on the other one.

Take care, Melissa.

I'm so sorry I didn't get to post the pictures. By the time I got home it was to dark to take them. They will be up here by this weekend. I promise.

Take care, Melissa.

Hi Nancy, I have some blocks that are finished, but not sewn into a finished product. I'll take some pictures tomorrow after work and figure out how to post them :)

Take care, Melissa.

I have a vintage Bernina that does some embroidery stitches. I use those mostly with crazy quilting and look for bags of lace and trims at thrift stores.
Has anyone mastered the "farm girl stitch" from MJ's stitchery book?

Hi Melissa... do you have any pictures of your work. I would love to see them. My Grandmother used to do CQ but I don't have any of her items sad to say.

I found a pack of 5 color coordinated fat quarters at JoAnns last night and laces, ribbons and sequins back in the clearance section. I've got a 6 day vacation coming up soon, so I can't wait to get started. :)

Take care, Melissa.

I have done small crazy quilting projects. I have a block to make into a pillow from a class I took years ago. I need to take an initial off and replace with something else. The person with said initial is no longer worthy of it so I will maybe do a ribbon flower or a spider web.
In the class I took we all ended up trading some fabrics or ribbons. I found several interesting small remnants that worked as well. Mens silk ties are a good source of fabric too.

Jill, I ran a free series on my blog called Embroidery School. The first was a basic course in stitches but there was another with crazy quilt stitches. Fell free to check it out. It comes with a pattern to practice the stitches on and a small project and instructions. Scroll down about halfway for the Crazy Quilt series of classes.

It's something I would like to do, I've just started taking a beginner's embroidery class. Post the link, once you get your bags on Etsy, I'd love to see them.

I don't do Crazy QUilting, but a good place to get the laces and trims is garage/estate sales and thrift shops.
