Hi everybody! I've really been enjoying everyone's post and have gotten gtreat tips for a new knitter. I wanted to share some of what I do as part of my childbirth education/doula. These are plaster casts of pregnant bellies that I then decorate for my clients or sometimes they decorate their own. I'd love to hear your thoughts, you are all so creative!

Wow! You sure are talented. Those look great. The hands on the second belly look so lifelike. Those are great keepsakes. It is so hard to remember how big you actually got & know what you looked like to others. I think those will bring fond memories any time they are looked at. Kids also always like to know about being born too, so this is great for them. Thanks for sharing!

Wow- those are very nice. So unique- who would have thought you could do that?

those are neat, but I bet my belly with all my pregnancies would have looked twice as big as those shown! At least I remember feeling that way anyhow...haha. those are very interesting and the artwork is nice.

Thanks! My site is in desparate need of updating! My husband does all of that for me and I have been begging him to get my belly page back up because I have done many more recently. Hopefully he'll get to it tonight. The bellies are so much fun and I think they give women a better appreciation of their pregnant bodies. I think they can detach a little bit of there self consciousness and body issues with a cast that they can't do when they look in the mirror or see a photograph. Maybe because there face isn't attached and they can more objective. Anyway, they are great fun. I also do face masks on my kids birthday every year that they decorate so they can see the preogression from year to year. I also have some baby hands, feet and bums that are cast differently and are so tiny and cute! Thanks for looking.

Very cool! The paintings are gorgeous and the casts and phenomenal. I still can't believe how big my belly got when I was pregnant with Jack. (And now he's almost 1-year!) Very cool. I clicked around on your site yesterday too...neat work!
