ok, so for those of you who know me,,, know I LUV Hobby Lobby,,, it's my favorite craft store on steroids! lol!

Anyway,,, a Hobby Lobby was finally opened down in Fresno CA., about 35min drive from where I live...
So needless to say, with much restraint, I waited 2 weeks after the Grand Opening before going to visit it... and yep! still crowded... oh well,,, it was still worth the trip...

They (H.L.)were in the midst of adding Halloweenie, Thanksgiving and Christmas stock amidst the confusion... but after navigating through the isles, I gathered up a few goodie... couldn't leave empty handed
Hubby dearest was with me, so I showed much restraint... but next time I am going with out him! lolol! A crafting gal's gotta do what a crafting gal does best!

Same here, girls! If I get out of HL with just what I went in for I feel like a Wonder Woman!

Jamie, my DH doesn't mind wandering HL with me. Sometimes he gets supplies of his own. I've been disappointed with Michaels too. Maybe I feel like its not really arranged so that I want to stay in the store for awhile. HL? Yeah..I could pack a lunch. lol

Check with the store, first. Hobby Lobby is NOT open on Sundays, and may not be open on Holidays.

I went to a second Hobby Lobby yesterday and still did not find the rubber stamp I was looking for. :-( However, I did get some large sunflowers and two more decorative sticks for a fall arrangement, a decorative pickup truck with a bed full of apples [great for the apples festival :-)], and a porcelain(maybe?) patchwork bear. I can rarely get out of HL for under $30.

Oh Krista, Grace is right, pack a lunch! I never get through the whole store! I get lost in certain areas. It's a good thing I don't live closer.

Nancy, well we know Richard was never ther! LoL!

The nearest Hobby Lobby is 23 minutes away. I think I'll make an expedition there on Monday. Michael's has dissappointed me. I only needed doll hair, but in the "doll section" all they had was American Girl clothing. Even the store guide was nonplussed. Seems like they sell lots of things for non-crafty persons, but basic supplies have to be searched out. The yarn is all the way back in a corner, and merchandise carts are parked there. Thank you, I needed to vent.

I really need to check out a Hobby Lobby! I have never been and we have about 6 different stores within a 2 hour driving distance from me with the closest one about 15 mins away! With all the rave going on I will have to check them out now.

My boyfriend also likes going to crafty places with me. We have not yet gone to HL together, though. He has gone to JoAnns and quilt shops with me numerous times, and even picked out fabrics.

You guys are cracking me up!!!

The irony is that my husband LOVES to go to Hobby Lobby and will often pester me to make a trip out on Saturdays - just to browse!

When we are there, he will say things like "Don't you need anything else?"

He's a keeper!

A Hobby Lobby opened near me I just have not had a chance to go, so I might have to try to go over the weekend......

WOO HOO! I made my Hobby Lobby run today - at least one of many. I found some fabric I needed (you quilters know how that goes) and some envelopes I went specifically for. Love those large sunflowers. I may get them my next trip into town for outside my front door fall display. I have the perfect container. Thanks for the idea, Grace.

Ladies don't you know taking your husband with you shopping at Hobby Lobby is like hunting with the game warden. Neither one is very much fun!

I used to wear CB boots all the time. We had horses and went riding too. I wouldn't be able to get in the stirrup let alone swing my leg over the saddle. Yikes what a site that would be. Those were the days. Somewhere along the way I traded my boots for nursing shoes. I have been getting the bug to get another pair of boots but can't find any around here. I like the clever boot deco and wine holder. Who would of thunk it! Lol!

The closest Hobby Lobby for me is 75 miles away in Farmington, New Mexico. We do go down there occasionally, but not often.
When I go to Phoenix to see my daughter we usually make a trip to HL there together.

You guys are all too funny, and my rule is never take your husband hobby supply shopping. You end of spending too much time justifying why you need something, rushing through the place because hubby is getting impatient and never get to see what's new. Unfortunately I do not have a Hobby Lobby near me and need to wait until I visit my daughter in Arizona to get my fix (she is a teacher and loves to spend time in HL). I love their seasonal items, especially when on sale.

I saw some really nice large sunflowers. Grace your idea to stand 3 by your front door would definitely say fall is on the way. If I did it I would have to tie them to something or the wind would blow them down the street.

Oh Gosh,,, did you see the Ginormous Sunflowers! I was toying with the idea of just getting 3 of them and tie them together with a fall festive wide ribbon and lean against the wall by the front door...

I too use cowgirl boots, both child and adult size as a vase...
and fyi: I have used my C.G. boots to store a bottle of wine in each boot, in my trailer while traveling... who said boots were only meant for wearing! lol!

Grace so funny you mentioning Hobby Lobby ~ I went today. Beautiful fall items next to Christmas things. Yes, Christmas has arrived in Texas. The clerk said Hobby Lobby puts out Christmas items this early for customers who make things to sell or for themselves. That makes sense to me. Also most of the store except custom flower designs on sale for 40 -50% off.

I bought 2 bunches of airy orange fall flowers to go into the child's western boots by my front door. Out with the summer yellow and in fall orange - instant decorating.

Also bought apple buttons, red & orange buttons, and bias tape.

I love HL too. Lol about the hubby. I hear you sister! Great finds. I'm getting the urge to go myself. About an hour from me. Everything is an hour away. Where ever I go I plan a bunch of stops when I'm out. I used to drive that far everyday when I was working and now I don't want to go out of the house! I guess there are to many miles on this old girl already! Lol!
