This is my first creation of unpaper towels. They're not as fancy as some I've seen on Etsy but they work.

Nice. I've thought about flannel. I've thought flannel on one side, microfiber on the other. The material diaper inserts are made if. I can't decide. I wish I had some fabric to recycle like that. Unfortunately I don't get to the thrift store enough to keep my eyes open. It's all I can do to get to the grocery store! This is definitely a project I want to do but it might have to wait a while. Also to make it worthwhile I'd have to make a ton. I'm looking to completely replace my disposable paper towels. I did this with napkins a couple years ago, but that was easy. Just had to be cotton, and I wasn't picky about the pattern.

Erin, I just used old flannel bed sheets and used a normal piece of printer paper as my template. I used snappies as the fasteners.

I really like the idea/concept of these towels as well as washable covers for Swiffer dry or wet floor cleaners. The drawback for us who have been going through years of severe drought is water for laundry. In these drought areas we have HAD to reduce water usage DRAMATICALLY . . . laundry is one of those areas. So, I have to admit, I have had to use the paper products. But, with the hope of getting out of our severe drought situation, maybe I'll be able to consider these ideas.

This is a really neat project! I've never seen or heard about the idea but what a great way to rid the paper towel habit. It seems a little labor intensive up front but then they would last for potentially years. Thanks for sharing!

The ones Megan made are in the April 2015 Sister Issue. I really love this idea.

I've been wanting to do this for a while. It's one of those projects I have in the back of my head and just haven't gotten to yet... Yours look great! What kind of material did you use?

Megan did a "How To" on this in one of the MJF Sisterhood editions. I want to make them sometime. Great job!
