I'm not sure about a flea market, probably one close. They do have a an antique fair every October. It is a great little town, if you're ever in the area, look me up and we'll stalk Amy together! (Kidding about the stalking, of course :)

Megan -- Hello there -- and welcome! (I don't think I saw your first post, so I'll just say howdy here.)

How cool is that -- to see Amy Butler around town -- that is so cool! Isn't there a big flea market in Granville? I may be mistaken. . . . but if there is, I think a flea market trip and an Amy Butler sighting would be two good reasons to visit your town.

Fun!

Saw all of your Amy Butler comments! She and I live in the same town-granville, Ohio. It's like a little new england village in the middle of the midwest. can't say I've met her though, just seen her around. The shops in town carry a lot of her fabric and patterns, etc. Between that and all of you its enough to make me want to have my husband teach me how to use that sewing machine!

hello Clare, I've made a few Kaffe projects and bought Denyse Schmidt as well. I really love bright happy colors (you can tell from the robe!!) the teacup quilt was really fun to make so I like to show it off. I gave it to my mother in law for her 80th birthday. The robe was so easy to make I'm motivated to try some other projects out of the book now! There's a quilt in there that I plan on making! Merry x mas Clare.......... jo

Jo, you did a wonderful job on the robe. I love the slippers to coordinate. I got Amy Butler's book, In Stitches, too. I have not had time to make something from it. Just looking through the pictures is enough to stimulate the creative juices. I love her fabrics, too. I can't find them locally, but I enjoy seeing them in Hancock of Paducah's catalog.

Did you make the quilt as well? I am a Kaffe fasset fan, too. I have several of his books. Do you like Denyse Schmidt, too? She has a great quilt book out, too.

How Cute!! It was too tempting. I went and bought her book today. Now I have a list of things to make. Like I needed to add to the list I already had.

I'm making some of the recipe card bags tonight and I have a Christmas border print I'll try with the short pleated apron tomorrow. And then the hanging toiletry bag for a friend. Oops sorry. You didn't really want to see my to do list did you!!!!!

I just finished a church lady's apron from Mary Mulari pattern. I'm so jazzed I'll probably sew all night.

I'm sew happy

Jo -- I love the idea of that robe -- how difficult would it be to make it longer? (I'm not a short-robe kinda girl -- too chilly here in our drafty house!) I saw some flannel that would be perfect for a robe: sock monkeys on a lime-green background! Coordinating fabric is yellow bananas on the lime-green background. Sounds like a must-do?

Beautiful Jo! I hadn't heard of Amy Butler before, think I need to check her out!
I haven't been working on anything big. Just ornaments, embellished towels or a little bit of embroidery. I have quite a few ideas for after Christmas...

The slipper pattern is from fiber trends (fibertrends.com). The robe pattern is in the Amy Butler "Stitches" pattern book. It is so easy I'm embarassed! all rectangular pieces except for the collar. The flannel is hard to find but some Amy Butler "Cozy" flannels are still available through The Calico Cat in Auburn washington. They have a web site..... I made a baby quilt out of some of her other flannels.... thanks for enjoying my little creation. It is so "cozy" to wear!! jo

Jo- How cool are you?! Love the robe and those slippers are so cute!
Bet their nice and toasty, too. I had never heard of Amy Butler until someone here mentioned her a while ago. I spent a long time checking out her website and all the great stuff she has to offer. She has not become a household name here and I don't see her fabrics when I'm out but I am now a convert! There are some really cute patterns I have been eyeing for a January sewing frenzy! Thanks for reminding me!

with a happy heart

Jo, your projects are just lovely. I use Amy Butler fabrics to make my daughter (she's 19) and her friends purses and pillowcases, etc. They love them. Your work is fabulous! Enjoy sewing time. Sheryl-lyn
